Geely Auto Confirms Canada Entry, First Vehicles Coming in 2027

Geely Auto is officially entering the Canadian market, with the Chinese automaker preparing to introduce its first vehicles in the country in 2027. The company has begun establishing local operations and is working to build a retail and service network ahead of its planned launch.

The move marks another step in Geely Auto Group’s international expansion as the company looks to bring its global vehicle lineup, electrification technology, and engineering capabilities to Canadian consumers.

Although the automaker has confirmed its plans to enter Canada, it has yet to announce which models will be offered, how much they will cost, or where its first dealerships will open.

Geely Auto Begins Building Its Canadian Network

Geely Auto Canada is laying the groundwork for its market entry by establishing local operations and seeking experienced retail and service partners across the country.

The company says building a reliable dealer and service network will be central to its Canadian strategy. The goal is to provide customers with support throughout the ownership experience, from purchasing a vehicle to servicing and maintaining it.

Bryan Wu, managing director of Geely Auto Canada, described the country as an important next step in the brand’s international growth, highlighting plans to combine global engineering expertise with local partnerships.

Geely says its Canadian operations will focus on delivering a customer experience tailored to the needs of Canadian drivers, supported by its capabilities in vehicle engineering, safety, electrification, intelligent technology, and advanced manufacturing.

However, the company has not yet disclosed its initial Canadian vehicle lineup. Further announcements are expected as preparations for the 2027 launch progress.

Which Geely Vehicles Could Arrive in Canada?

For now, Geely has not confirmed which vehicles will make up its initial Canadian lineup. The company says it will select models from its global portfolio, leaving open the possibility of introducing electrified vehicles alongside other offerings.

Geely Auto Group operates several automotive brands, including Geely Auto, Zeekr, and Lynk & Co. However, the Canadian market entry announced by the company specifically concerns the Geely Auto brand.

The wider group’s experience with electric and electrified vehicles could become an important part of its Canadian expansion, particularly as competition in the electric vehicle market continues to develop.

Still, no specific electric cars, SUVs, battery specifications, driving ranges, or Canadian prices have been confirmed. It is also too early to determine which models will be available at launch.

Geely Auto Canada is expected to provide more information about its first vehicles, dealership locations, pricing, and availability before the planned commercial launch in 2027.

Geely’s Global Growth Supports Canadian Expansion

Geely’s entry into Canada comes as its parent group continues to expand its global sales and electrification efforts.

Geely Auto Group sold more than 3.02 million vehicles worldwide in 2025, including nearly 1.69 million electrified vehicles. From January through September 2026, the group reported sales of more than 2.23 million vehicles.

These figures highlight the scale of the automaker’s international operations and its growing presence in electrified transportation.

The group also benefits from an international engineering and design network focused on research and development, vehicle electrification, product development, and next-generation automotive technologies. Its brands are represented in more than 100 countries and regions worldwide.

For Canada, the challenge will be translating that global experience into a competitive local offering, supported by accessible dealerships, dependable after-sales service, and vehicles suited to the needs of Canadian buyers.

What Geely’s Arrival Means for Canadian Car Buyers

Geely’s planned entry adds another automaker to Canada’s increasingly competitive automotive market. Its eventual success will depend on the vehicles it chooses to introduce, their pricing, and the strength of its retail and service network.

For electric vehicle shoppers, the most important details remain unknown. Battery range, charging performance, winter-weather capability, warranty coverage, and pricing will all help determine how attractive Geely’s future models are to Canadian buyers.

The company has not yet confirmed whether its first Canadian vehicles will include particular electric SUVs or other electrified models. Until an official lineup is announced, comparisons with existing EVs and forecasts about Canadian pricing remain speculative.

Geely Auto is targeting 2027 for its first vehicle introductions, giving the company time to establish its operations and develop local partnerships.

More details about the lineup, retail locations, and commercial launch plans are expected as the brand moves closer to its Canadian debut.
