Mercedes-AMG has expanded its next-generation GT lineup with the introduction of the GT 53 4-Door Coupe, an all-electric performance model that blends the brand’s signature driving dynamics with advanced EV technology.
Designed as both a high-performance sports sedan and a capable long-distance grand tourer, the new model combines powerful dual-motor performance, an 800-volt electrical architecture, and a luxurious, driver-focused interior.

Dual-Motor Powertrain Delivers 536 Horsepower
Power comes from two permanently excited synchronous electric motors producing a combined 536 horsepower and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. Mercedes-AMG says the GT 53 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, placing it firmly among today’s high-performance electric sedans.
The rear motor serves as the primary drive unit, while the front motor engages only when additional traction or performance is needed. A Disconnect Unit allows the front motor to disengage during light-load driving, helping maximize efficiency without compromising performance. A dedicated two-speed transmission further enhances acceleration at lower speeds while improving efficiency during highway cruising.
800-Volt Battery Offers Up to 800 km of Range
At the heart of the new GT 53 is a 106 kWh usable battery built around an advanced 800-volt architecture. Mercedes-AMG estimates a driving range of more than 800 kilometers (WLTP), making it one of the longest-range performance EVs announced by the brand.
The battery uses directly cooled cylindrical cells with NCMA chemistry and silicon-enhanced anodes to increase energy density, charging capability, and long-term durability. A unique oil-based cooling system circulates around every individual battery cell, maintaining consistent operating temperatures even under demanding driving conditions.
Up to 600 kW DC Fast Charging
One of the standout features is support for DC fast charging at up to 600 kW when connected to compatible 800-volt charging stations. Mercedes-AMG says drivers can add 534 kilometers (332 miles) of range in as little as 10 minutes.
The vehicle also supports 400-volt charging infrastructure by automatically switching voltage levels when necessary, improving charging compatibility across different networks.
Intelligent Cooling Enhances Performance
A newly developed Central Coolant Hub (CCH) manages thermal control for the battery, electric drive units, and other critical components. Instead of relying on multiple separate cooling systems, the integrated design intelligently distributes cooling where it is needed most, helping maintain consistent performance during spirited driving, rapid charging, or hot weather.
AMG Sound Experience Comes to the Electric Era
Although fully electric, Mercedes-AMG aims to preserve its emotional driving character.
The exclusive AMGFORCE Sport+ driving mode recreates the sound and feel of the company’s turbocharged inline-six engines through digitally engineered audio and simulated gear changes. AMG engineers recorded real combustion-engine acoustics using extensive measurements to create a sound profile intended to feel authentic rather than artificial.
Drivers can also customize the audio experience through a dedicated Sound Slider offering multiple sound profiles and intensity levels.
