EVgo to Add Tesla V4 Superchargers Across U.S. Fast Charging Network

Public fast charging provider EVgo is expanding its network with the introduction of Tesla V4 Superchargers, giving electric vehicle drivers more high-power charging options across major metropolitan areas in the United States.

The company announced that deployment of the new chargers will begin this fall, with the first EVgo Supercharger locations expected to enter service during the second half of 2026.

The move strengthens EVgo’s position as one of the country’s leading public charging operators while improving charging access for both Tesla owners and drivers of other EV brands.

Tesla V4 Superchargers Deliver Up to 500kW Charging

The new EVgo Superchargers will feature Tesla’s latest V4 Supercharger technology, capable of delivering charging speeds of up to 500 kW at 1,000 volts. Under ideal conditions, compatible vehicles will be able to recover as much as 200 miles of driving range in approximately 15 minutes.

Tesla drivers will also benefit from seamless integration with the Tesla ecosystem. EVgo Supercharger locations will appear directly within the vehicle’s navigation system, allowing Tesla’s Trip Planner to automatically route drivers to available stations.

Magic Dock Expands Compatibility

Each new site will be equipped with Tesla’s Magic Dock, enabling both NACS and CCS vehicles to charge without requiring drivers to carry an adapter.

EVgo also plans to install longer charging cables at these locations, making it easier for vehicles with different charging port locations to connect. The improved design is intended to enhance accessibility and simplify charging for a wider variety of electric vehicles.

Growing Demand Drives Network Expansion

EVgo says customer usage on its public charging network has surged by more than 700% over the past three years, reflecting the rapid growth of EV adoption across the United States.

The company expects more than 35 electric vehicle models equipped with the North American Charging Standard (NACS) to be available by the end of 2026. Combined with the more than 3 million Tesla vehicles already on U.S. roads, the rollout of Tesla Superchargers is expected to significantly expand charging capacity for NACS-equipped vehicles.

“EVgo is making it easier for EV drivers to find convenient fast charging, and we’re bringing more infrastructure options to communities across America to serve the growing demand for public charging,” said Badar Khan, CEO of EVgo. “With this deployment, we look forward to welcoming more Tesla and NACS drivers to the EVgo network.”

Next-Generation EVgo Chargers Also on the Way

Alongside the deployment of Tesla V4 Superchargers, EVgo is continuing work on its own next-generation charging platform.

The new charging architecture is being developed at the company’s Innovation Lab in El Segundo, California, with the first installations expected before the end of the year. The upgraded platform is designed to support future charging technologies and accommodate the continued growth of the U.S. electric vehicle market.

The addition of Tesla V4 Superchargers and EVgo’s next-generation infrastructure highlights the company’s strategy of expanding charging capacity while improving compatibility and convenience for an increasingly diverse EV fleet.
