China’s leading electric vehicle manufacturers XPENG and NIO both reported strong delivery results for June and the second quarter of 2026, with each company surpassing 40,000 vehicle deliveries during the month while continuing to expand their product portfolios and technology offerings.
XPENG Delivers More Than 40,000 EVs in June
XPENG delivered 40,126 electric vehicles in June 2026, bringing its total deliveries for the second quarter to 103,295 units.
The company’s recently launched GX continued to gain momentum, recording 6,739 deliveries during June. XPENG also celebrated a production milestone as the 10,000th GX rolled off the assembly line.
Looking ahead, XPENG is preparing to introduce the MONA L03 in China on July 2, with presales beginning the same day ahead of a broader global launch later in July.
Beyond sales growth, XPENG highlighted the environmental impact of its expanding EV fleet. The automaker estimates that vehicles delivered during the first half of 2026 will reduce life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions by more than 2.66 million tons compared with equivalent internal combustion engine vehicles. According to the company, that reduction is comparable to the carbon absorption of 43.92 million young trees over a 10-year period.
NIO Records 62.9% Growth in June Deliveries
NIO delivered 40,597 vehicles in June 2026, representing a 62.9% year-over-year increase.
The June total included:
– 21,908 vehicles from the NIO brand
– 11,743 vehicles from ONVO
– 6,946 vehicles from FIREFLY
Second-quarter deliveries reached 107,658 vehicles, up 49.4% compared with the same period last year. As of June 30, 2026, NIO’s cumulative deliveries totaled 1,188,715 vehicles.
Smart Driving Technology Continues to Advance
During June, NIO rolled out the latest version of its WorldModel intelligent driving platform to more than 700,000 users. The update makes NIO the first automaker to support synchronized development and deployment of its intelligent driving system across both general-purpose chip platforms and the company’s in-house chips.
The upgraded software introduces a new three-layer AI training framework consisting of a world model, supervised fine-tuning, and closed-loop reinforcement learning. According to NIO, the improvements enhance performance in complex driving scenarios while delivering more natural driving behavior and a better balance between safety and efficiency.
Premium SUV Lineup Reaches New Milestones
NIO also celebrated several product achievements during June.
The All-New ES8 surpassed 120,000 cumulative deliveries, reinforcing its position in China’s premium SUV segment priced above RMB 400,000. The new All-New ES8 Five-Seat Version also arrived in showrooms and entered presales on June 28, expanding the model’s appeal in the premium five-seat SUV market.
Meanwhile, the NIO ES9 reached 10,000 cumulative deliveries just 30 days after customer deliveries began on May 28, setting a new delivery record for premium battery-electric vehicles priced above RMB 500,000 in China.
Chinese EV Makers Continue Strong Momentum
The June results underline the continued strength of China’s electric vehicle market. Both XPENG and NIO exceeded 40,000 monthly deliveries, while ongoing investments in new vehicle launches, premium SUVs, and advanced intelligent driving technologies position both automakers for continued growth during the second half of 2026.
