Nissan has reached a significant milestone in its European electrification journey, surpassing 1.25 million electrified vehicle sales across the region. The achievement highlights the Japanese automaker’s long-standing commitment to electrified mobility and reinforces its position as one of Europe’s leading brands for electric vehicles.
Of the total vehicles sold, nearly 350,000 are fully electric models, reflecting Nissan’s extensive experience in battery-electric technology since launching the pioneering LEAF more than a decade ago.
Nissan Expands Its Largest Electrified Lineup Yet
As demand for electrified vehicles continues to grow, Nissan is rolling out its broadest European model range to date. The lineup now includes the all-new Nissan MICRA EV, the third-generation Nissan LEAF, an updated Ariya, and the refreshed X-Trail equipped with Nissan’s e-POWER hybrid technology.
The latest models were recently showcased during a dedicated media driving event in Barcelona, where Nissan demonstrated how its expanding portfolio is designed to meet a wide variety of customer needs. From compact urban EVs to family-friendly SUVs and long-distance hybrid solutions, the company aims to provide buyers with greater flexibility as they transition to electrified driving.
More Electric Models Arriving Soon
Nissan’s European EV offensive is far from over. Later this year, the company plans to introduce a new A-segment electric vehicle, further strengthening its entry-level offering.
In early 2027, the brand will also launch the all-electric Nissan JUKE, expanding its fully electric passenger car lineup to five models. Nissan’s commercial vehicle range will also remain electrified with the Townstar and Interstar electric vans.
Once the upcoming launches are complete, European customers will have access to Nissan’s widest selection of battery-electric vehicles ever.
Multiple Electrified Technologies for Different Drivers
Rather than focusing solely on battery-electric vehicles, Nissan continues to pursue a multi-technology strategy. Alongside fully electric models, the automaker offers its proprietary e-POWER system and conventional hybrid powertrains, allowing customers to choose the technology that best matches their driving habits.
Clíodhna Lyons, Region Vice President of Product & Services Planning at Nissan AMIEO, said the company remains focused on giving customers the freedom to choose the electrified vehicle that best fits their lifestyle.
According to Lyons, customer needs vary widely—from daily city commuting to frequent long-distance travel—and Nissan’s expanding range is intended to provide practical electrified solutions for every type of driver while supporting Europe’s transition toward cleaner mobility.
Supporting Europe’s Shift to Electrified Mobility
Nissan’s latest sales milestone underscores the growing acceptance of electrified vehicles across Europe. By offering a wider choice of fully electric vehicles alongside hybrid technologies across multiple vehicle segments and price points, the automaker is positioning itself to appeal to a broad spectrum of buyers.
With new models arriving over the next two years, Nissan is continuing to strengthen its presence in Europe’s rapidly evolving EV market while making electrified driving more accessible for both private and commercial customers.
