Hyundai Motor Group has introduced AllDayEnergy, a new global Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) energy services brand designed to unify its growing portfolio of smart EV energy solutions under a single identity. The initiative aims to deliver a consistent customer experience while helping electric vehicle owners reduce charging costs, better manage energy consumption and support more resilient electricity grids.
The company plans to launch AllDayEnergy first in the UK through the Kia App during the second half of 2026, with further expansion scheduled across Europe, the United States and South Korea.
A Unified Brand for Hyundai’s EV Energy Ecosystem
Rather than offering separate energy services in different regions, Hyundai Motor Group is bringing its existing V2X technologies together under one global brand.
The initial rollout will focus on V1G smart charging, with Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) capabilities joining the platform as deployment expands.
According to Woong Tae Hwang, Vice President and Head of Hyundai Motor Group’s EV Energy Strategy Group, the launch represents an important milestone in the company’s transformation into a smart energy solutions provider. The long-term goal is to help customers optimise energy usage throughout the day while lowering electricity costs and supporting grid stability.
What Is AllDayEnergy?
AllDayEnergy connects compatible electric vehicles with homes and electricity networks through bidirectional charging technology.
Unlike conventional charging, V2X systems allow energy to flow in both directions. This enables an electric vehicle to function as a mobile energy storage unit, storing electricity when rates are low and supplying it back when demand or prices increase.
Depending on local regulations and available services, drivers can benefit by:
– Charging during off-peak electricity periods.
– Using the vehicle battery to power household appliances.
– Selling electricity back to the grid or participating in utility energy programmes.
– Providing backup power during emergencies or grid outages.
As electricity markets continue to adopt dynamic pricing and renewable energy sources, these capabilities could become increasingly valuable for EV owners.
Three Core Services Under AllDayEnergy
Hyundai’s new platform will eventually include three key energy management services.
V1G Smart Charging automatically schedules vehicle charging based on electricity prices, grid demand and customer preferences, helping minimise charging costs while reducing pressure on the power grid.
Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) enables compatible EVs to return stored electricity to the grid when required, creating new opportunities for grid balancing and energy flexibility.
Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) allows an electric vehicle to supply electricity directly to a home. Besides reducing reliance on grid power during peak pricing, the feature can also provide emergency backup power during blackouts.
Existing V2X Projects Already Operating Worldwide
Although AllDayEnergy is a new global brand, Hyundai Motor Group has already been deploying V2X technologies in several markets.
In South Korea, the company is testing V2G services through a pilot programme in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.
In the United States, Hyundai has introduced V2H functionality capable of providing household backup power during emergencies, including major wildfire-related outages.
Meanwhile, in the Netherlands, customers already have access to smart charging and Vehicle-to-Grid services that optimise charging schedules based on real-time electricity pricing.
These regional projects provide the foundation for the broader global rollout under the AllDayEnergy brand.
How Drivers Will Access AllDayEnergy
Customers will access AllDayEnergy directly through the Hyundai Motor and Kia mobile apps, eliminating the need for separate software platforms.
The UK will be the first market to receive the service through the Kia App, with Hyundai Motor Group planning a gradual expansion into additional countries as compatible infrastructure and regulations develop.
