Hyundai Motor Group is making public EV charging more convenient for Canadian drivers with the rollout of new in-app charging functionality for both Hyundai and Genesis electric vehicles.
As Genesis is Hyundai’s luxury brand, the two automakers are introducing similar connected charging features through their respective mobile apps, giving owners a simpler way to find, start, manage and pay for charging sessions from one place.
The new functionality is available across each brand’s entire EV lineup through the MyHyundai with Bluelink app and the Genesis Intelligent Assistant app, allowing drivers to locate compatible charging stations, initiate charging sessions, monitor progress and complete payments without switching between multiple applications.
The update is part of Hyundai Motor Group’s broader strategy to improve the overall EV ownership experience by making public charging faster, easier and more intuitive.
One app for charging, payments and station management
The new feature consolidates several essential charging functions into a single digital platform. Drivers can:
– Find nearby available charging stations
– Start charging sessions directly from the app
– Pay for charging through an integrated payment system
– Monitor and manage charging sessions from their smartphone
To access the service, users can either connect an existing ChargePoint account or create a new one within the app. Once linked, the platform provides access to several major North American charging networks, including Tesla Superchargers (where supported), ChargePoint, FLO and Circuit Électrique.
Charging sessions and payment processing are securely handled through ChargePoint and its network partners, eliminating the need to manage multiple charging accounts.
According to Jeff Hewitt, Director of Connected Digital Experience for both Hyundai Canada and Genesis Canada, integrating multiple charging networks into a single application helps simplify interactions with public charging infrastructure while providing greater convenience and confidence during everyday driving.
Complimentary NACS adapters expand charging access
Alongside the software update, both brands continue expanding charging access through complimentary North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter programs for eligible vehicles equipped with Combined Charging System (CCS) charging ports.
Eligible Hyundai models
Owners of the following Hyundai EVs delivered before December 31, 2025, qualify for the complimentary adapter program:
– 2019-2021 Hyundai IONIQ Electric
– 2019-2026 Hyundai Kona Electric
– 2022-2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5
– 2023-2025 Hyundai IONIQ 6
Eligible Genesis models
Genesis customers with the following vehicles delivered before December 31, 2025 are also eligible:
– 2022-2025 Genesis GV60
– 2023-2024 Genesis Electrified G80
– 2024-2025 Genesis Electrified GV70
Eligible customers can receive a complimentary NACS adapter while supplies last after completing the required EV Special Care dealership service and enrolling in their respective connected vehicle app.
