FIAT Unveils Comprehensive Micromobility Strategy with Topolino, TRIS and Multiplina Concept

FIAT has outlined its long-term vision for electric urban mobility, introducing a comprehensive micromobility ecosystem built around the fully electric Topolino, the versatile TRIS three-wheeler, and the all-new Multiplina Concept.

Unveiled during the brand’s first event dedicated entirely to micromobility in Rome, the strategy aims to address both personal and commercial transportation needs in increasingly congested urban environments.

Rather than focusing on individual products, FIAT is positioning itself to offer a connected range of electric mobility solutions designed for everyday commuting, last-mile logistics and emerging lifestyle applications.

Topolino Continues to Lead Europe’s Electric Quadricycle Market

At the center of FIAT’s strategy is the Topolino, which has quickly become one of the brand’s biggest success stories. According to FIAT, the compact electric quadricycle was Europe’s best-selling electric light vehicle in 2025 and remains the market leader in the electric quadricycle segment.

Momentum continues to build in 2026, with second-quarter orders expected to reach a new all-time high—approximately 30% higher than during the same period last year.

FIAT also credits the Topolino with accelerating electric vehicle adoption in its segment, helping push EV penetration above 60%, the highest electric mix of any passenger vehicle category in Europe.

To broaden its appeal, the company is expanding the lineup with several new versions, including:

– Corallo
– Dolcevita
– Sport
– Vilebrequin Collector’s Edition

The new variants reinforce the Topolino’s dual role as both an accessible urban EV and a lifestyle-focused design icon.

FIAT also introduced the Monsterlino, a set of Bluetooth speakers developed with audio brand Monster. The magnetically mounted speakers attach directly to the Topolino and can easily be removed for use with a smartphone, extending the entertainment experience beyond the vehicle.

TRIS Expands Beyond Commercial Transport

FIAT is also broadening the mission of the TRIS, the brand’s first fully electric three-wheeler.

Originally developed as a zero-emission solution for last-mile delivery services in Africa and the Middle East, TRIS is now being adapted for hospitality and leisure applications through the new Dolcevita concept.

Inspired by the relaxed atmosphere of the Italian Riviera, the concept transforms the commercial platform into a more lifestyle-oriented mobility solution suitable for resorts, hotels and recreational destinations.

The company also announced a partnership with Italy’s historic coffee roaster, Caffè Vergnano, to create mobile coffee shops based on the TRIS platform. The initiative expands the existing Caffè Vergnano 1882 concept while demonstrating how compact electric commercial vehicles can support sustainable street retail and hospitality businesses across Europe.

Multiplina Concept Previews FIAT’s Next Electric Light Vehicle

Looking further ahead, FIAT used the event to preview the Multiplina Concept, a modern reinterpretation of the iconic 1956 Fiat 600 Multipla.

Designed as the bridge between the compact Topolino and a conventional passenger car, the concept emphasizes intelligent packaging and space-efficient design while maintaining the simplicity that defines the brand’s micromobility vision.

The production model is expected to arrive in 2028 as a four-seat battery-electric vehicle in the L7e category, offering greater comfort, practicality and passenger space than the Topolino while remaining compact enough for urban environments.

Building a Complete Electric Mobility Ecosystem

Together, the Topolino, TRIS and Multiplina represent three complementary pillars of FIAT’s expanding micromobility strategy.

The Topolino focuses on everyday personal transportation, TRIS addresses commercial and business mobility while expanding into leisure applications, and the Multiplina is intended to serve customers seeking a larger yet still compact electric vehicle.

By bringing these models together under one strategy, FIAT is creating a broader ecosystem that spans personal mobility, professional use and lifestyle experiences, while reinforcing its commitment to accessible, practical and stylish electric transportation.

Commenting on the new direction, FIAT CEO Olivier François said micromobility will play a central role in the brand’s future, with the Topolino, TRIS and forthcoming Multiplina laying the foundation for a complete mobility ecosystem designed for the cities of tomorrow.
