BYD Confirms Ti7 Seven-Seat Plug-in Hybrid SUV for UK Market

Chinese automaker BYD has confirmed the arrival of the new Ti7 for the UK market, expanding its growing lineup with its largest and most family-focused SUV yet.

Already a strong seller in global markets, the new seven-seat SUV is designed to appeal to larger families and buyers looking for a practical vehicle with rugged styling, generous interior space and electrified performance.

The BYD Ti7 measures 5,146 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width and 1,865 mm in height, giving it a commanding road presence that places it firmly in the large SUV segment. Its upright proportions, pronounced wheel arches and squared-off rear styling give the model a more robust appearance compared to many conventional family SUVs.

At the front, the Ti7 features a distinctive dual-layer LED lighting signature paired with a contrasting titanium-finish lower bumper section. The design language helps establish the Ti7 as a flagship offering within BYD’s UK range.

Inside, the SUV offers three rows of seating with space for seven occupants, while the large body dimensions also allow for a generous cargo area aimed at active lifestyles and long-distance family travel.

Power comes from BYD’s Dual Mode Performance (DM-p) plug-in hybrid system. The setup combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with two electric motors driving all four wheels. The electrified drivetrain enables the Ti7 to accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 4.8 seconds, delivering performance figures more commonly associated with sports SUVs.

The Ti7 also offers a WLTP electric-only combined range of up to 79 miles, giving drivers the ability to complete many daily commutes without using petrol. The combination of long electric range and all-wheel-drive capability positions the model as a practical alternative for buyers not yet ready to move to a fully electric SUV.

BYD has not yet released full UK specifications or pricing details for the Ti7. More information is expected in the coming weeks ahead of the model’s official launch.
