Ark Zero Electric Quadricycle Is The Cheapest EV You Can Buy In The UK. Ark Zero is set to become the UK’s most affordable EV, priced at just £5,995.

Ark Motors, a British electric vehicle start-up, has introduced an affordable electric quadricycle named the Ark Zero. Priced at £5995, it is touted as the most cost-effective electric car in the UK. The Zero is now available for ordering exclusively through Ark’s website.

Weighing 489kg, this two-seater EV from the London-based company offers a top speed of 28mph and a range of 50.3 miles from an 80-Ah LiIon battery that powers a 3 HP electric motor. It comfortably accommodates two adults and even has space for a dog.

The Zero features a body constructed entirely of aluminum, providing enhanced energy absorption and dissipation compared to traditional steel bodies in the event of an accident. This design choice improves the safety of occupants while also contributing to better handling and maneuverability in urban environments. Additionally, the aluminum body offers advantages such as a well-balanced weight distribution and resistance to corrosion.

With dimensions measuring 2500mm in length, 1202mm in width, and 1625mm in height, the Zero is shorter in length but taller than its closest competitors, the Citroën Ami, Opel Rocks-e, as well as its Italian counterpart, the Fiat Topolino. It is available in a single configuration, with customers having the option to select from four different colors: red, black, white, and grey.

The standard features of the Zero include a sunroof, reversing camera, LED lights, a central LCD infotainment screen, and Bluetooth connectivity. Charging is facilitated by a standard Type 1 charger, supporting speeds of up to 7.4kW. Customers can also use Type 2 chargers with the help of a converter. According to Ark, a full charge typically takes six to eight hours and costs less than one pound.

“At Ark, we are committed to creating The Future of Urban Mobility that is smarter, smoother, and greener,” said Yilmaz Bora, Founder and CEO of Ark. “By eliminating fossil fuel reliance and embracing electric vehicles like the Ark Zero, we can foster positive change in our communities and protect our planet for future generations.”

Bora added, “I want to thank our business partners, government agencies, and dedicated employees for their unwavering support, which has helped us swiftly establish itself in the electric vehicle market and provide innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of consumers.”
