XCharge has officially opened its first European assembly line in Silla, Valencia, marking a major step in the company’s regional expansion and Europe’s growing EV charging ecosystem.
The nearly 3,000-square-meter facility will assemble high-power EV charging systems and battery storage solutions for the European market under the “Made in Spain” label. Full production capacity is expected in 2027, reinforcing Spain’s position as a key hub for electromobility manufacturing.
New Valencia Facility Strengthens European Supply Chain
Located in Silla, the new plant is designed to support a more resilient and localized supply chain for EV charging infrastructure. The site is expected to help reduce delivery times, improve customization for European customers, and support regional decarbonization goals.
The opening ceremony brought together national, regional, and local officials, along with leaders from the mobility and energy sectors. Representatives highlighted the project’s potential to support reindustrialization, attract high-value investment, and create skilled jobs in one of Spain’s strongest automotive regions.
According to Albina Iljasov, Head of Europe at XCharge, the Silla facility completes the company’s industrial footprint in Spain and reflects its long-term commitment to building a stronger and more sustainable European charging value chain.
Part of a Broader European Expansion Strategy
The Silla assembly line complements XCharge’s wider European network, which includes a technical center and warehouse in Madrid opened in 2025 and a testing laboratory in Hamburg launched in late 2024.
Together, these facilities form a growing European R&D and logistics ecosystem aimed at improving product testing, tailoring charging solutions for local markets, and speeding up innovation.
XCharge has been operating in Europe since 2017. The company has installed more than 9,000 chargers globally, including nearly 3,000 across the European Union.
GridLink to Lead Production at the New Plant
The Silla factory will initially assemble GridLink, XCharge’s battery-integrated fast charging solution designed to simplify the rollout of ultra-fast charging.
GridLink can deliver close to 200 kW of charging power while drawing just 44 kW from the grid, thanks to its integrated 215 kWh battery storage system. The storage capacity can also be expanded to 430 kWh.
This setup allows charging station operators to deploy high-power chargers without costly electrical grid upgrades. It also supports direct solar energy integration and can continue operating during grid outages, making it particularly attractive for areas with limited grid capacity.
Spain’s EV Market Momentum Supports Expansion
Spain’s EV market is gaining momentum, making the country an increasingly attractive destination for charging infrastructure investment. In 2025, battery-electric passenger car sales in Spain surpassed 100,000 units for the first time, reflecting strong growth in demand.
With its established automotive base, skilled workforce, and rising EV adoption, Valencia is emerging as one of Europe’s most promising electromobility hubs.
For XCharge, the new plant is more than a manufacturing site. It is a strategic move to support Europe’s energy transition with faster, smarter, and more resilient charging infrastructure.
