LEPAS, a new premium “new energy vehicle” (NEV) brand launched by Chery International last year, has officially introduced the new LEPAS L6 in Europe, marking a major step in its expansion plans.
Unveiled during Milan Design Week, the new SUV arrives in both self-charging hybrid and fully electric versions, with UK sales set to begin in Q4 2026.
The European debut also showcased the larger LEPAS L8 in hybrid form, but it is the L6 that is expected to play a key role in the brand’s UK growth strategy.
LEPAS L6 targets premium compact SUV buyers
Positioned in the highly competitive C-segment SUV market, the LEPAS L6 is designed as a five-seat model that blends premium styling, advanced connectivity, and practical range. Built on Chery International’s new modular NEV platform, the L6 has been engineered specifically with European driving needs in mind.
LEPAS says the L6 combines elegant design with real-world usability. The exterior draws inspiration from a running leopard, with sculpted bodywork and distinctive LED headlights designed to resemble a leopard’s eyes.
Despite sitting below the flagship L8, the L6 promises a premium cabin experience, intelligent driver assistance systems, and engineering aimed at global five-star safety standards.
LEPAS Super Hybrid delivers more than 700 miles of range
The LEPAS L6 will be offered with the brand’s new LEPAS Super Hybrid powertrain. This self-charging setup pairs a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and battery pack, delivering a claimed total driving range of more than 700 miles.
That could make the L6 one of the most compelling options for drivers seeking long-distance flexibility without relying solely on charging infrastructure.
LEPAS L6 BEV offers fast charging and solid range
For buyers ready to go fully electric, the LEPAS L6 BEV will feature a 67 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of up to 270 miles.
The all-electric SUV also supports rapid charging, with the battery able to charge from 30% to 80% in around 20 minutes. That should make the L6 well suited for daily commuting and longer road trips alike.
Smart tech and premium comfort at the core
LEPAS is positioning the L6 as more than just another SUV. The brand says the model is designed to deliver a connected ownership experience, with smart technology integrated throughout the cabin to improve comfort, safety, and convenience.
The L6 is also aimed at buyers who value design-led products and premium craftsmanship, helping LEPAS stand out in an increasingly crowded electric and hybrid SUV market.
UK launch details to follow
LEPAS has confirmed that the L6 will become the brand’s second UK model, with customer deliveries expected to begin in late 2026.
Full UK specifications, pricing, and trim details will be announced closer to launch. For now, the LEPAS L6 looks set to be an important new contender in the growing premium electrified SUV segment.
