Polestar Announces Four New Electric Cars by 2028

Polestar is gearing up for the most ambitious product expansion in its history. The Swedish premium EV brand has confirmed four new electric vehicles will launch globally over the next three years, as it positions itself for sustained growth across key markets including the UK and United States.

Following its strongest retail sales year to date in 2025, Polestar expects low double-digit volume growth in 2026, alongside a 30% expansion of its retail network.

Four New Polestar EVs Coming by 2028

By 2028, Polestar plans to introduce four new models that target high-demand, high-margin segments of the global EV market.

Polestar 5 – Deliveries from Summer 2026
The Polestar 5 will serve as the brand’s halo model. This four-door Grand Tourer is built on a lightweight bonded aluminium platform and is designed to deliver premium performance, luxury and dynamic handling.

The model has already received strong early reviews during its European launch tour. Deliveries are expected to begin in summer 2026, with availability anticipated across Europe and North America.

Polestar 4 – New Variant Launching This Year
Currently Polestar’s best-selling model, the Polestar 4 will expand with a new variant launching later this year, with customer deliveries starting in Q4 2026.

The new version will retain the brand’s core technology while broadening appeal with added versatility. Polestar aims to combine estate-like practicality with SUV capability and sporty performance — a formula that could resonate strongly in the UK, U.S. and Canadian markets where crossover and SUV demand remains dominant.

Polestar 2 – Next Generation Arrives in 2027
With more than 190,000 units sold globally, the Polestar 2 remains the foundation of the brand. A fully redesigned next-generation model is scheduled to launch in early 2027.

The successor will play a central role in Polestar’s future lineup, especially in competitive EV sedan markets like the U.S. and UK, where buyers continue to seek premium electric alternatives to traditional luxury brands.

Polestar 7 – Compact Premium SUV in 2028
Arriving in 2028, the Polestar 7 will enter the compact premium SUV segment — currently the largest EV category in Europe and one of the fastest-growing in North America.

Polestar says the model will deliver performance-focused driving dynamics at an attractive price point. Notably, the vehicle is planned to be built in Europe, which may support supply stability for UK and European buyers while strengthening the brand’s global production footprint.

Retail Network Expansion and Growth Strategy

In addition to its product offensive, Polestar is focusing on strengthening its retail presence. The company plans to expand its sales network by 30%, increasing its footprint in major metropolitan areas across Europe and North America.

Polestar expects its sales mix to evolve in 2026, with a growing share of deliveries coming from the Polestar 4 lineup. The company is also shifting further toward retail sales channels to drive higher-quality revenue growth and improve operational efficiency.

Despite ongoing geopolitical and economic challenges, Polestar delivered its best-ever retail performance in 2025. Full financial guidance for 2026 will be announced alongside the company’s 2025 full-year results.

Positioned for the EV Transformation

With four new premium EVs launching within three years, expanding retail infrastructure, and increasing focus on core EV segments like compact SUVs and performance grand tourers, Polestar is clearly targeting sustainable, profitable growth.

For buyers in the UK and U.S., the next three years will bring a significantly broader Polestar lineup — spanning performance GTs, versatile SUVs and next-generation electric sedans — reinforcing the brand’s ambition to become a major player in the global electric vehicle transition.
