New Opel Astra Electric: Up to 454 km Range, No Extra Cost

Just weeks after its world debut at the Brussels Motor Show, the refreshed Opel Astra and Astra Sports Tourer are now officially available to order, bringing sharper design, smarter technology, and improved efficiency without increasing the price.

Designed, developed, and built in Rüsselsheim, the latest Astra proves that meaningful upgrades don’t have to come with a higher price tag. In fact, buyers are getting more car for the same money.

Same Price, More Electric Range

One of the biggest updates is under the skin. The Opel Astra Electric now comes with a larger 58 kWh battery, boosting its WLTP range to up to 454 kilometers — around 35 km more than before. Despite this upgrade, pricing remains unchanged, starting at €37,990, while the Astra Sports Tourer Electric begins at €39,490 (Germany, incl. VAT).

For those not ready to go fully electric, Opel continues to offer a wide range of powertrains. The hybrid Astra, producing 145 hp, starts at €32,990, while plug-in hybrid and diesel options round out a lineup designed to suit almost any driving style.

A Bolder Look, Day and Night

Visually, the new Astra is instantly recognizable — and more confident than ever. The front end features a sharper Opel Vizor, now slimmer and more precise, with the Opel Blitz illuminated for the first time on an Astra. This signature element was previously reserved for higher-end models and now brings a premium touch to Opel’s compact bestseller.

Inspired by the bold Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo concept, the updated design also includes new 17- and 18-inch alloy wheel designs and fresh metallic paint options like Kontur White and Klover Green.

At night, the Astra truly stands out. Available with the Intelli-Lux HD lighting system, featuring over 50,000 individual light elements, the car automatically adapts to traffic conditions, enhances visibility, and reduces glare for both the driver and other road users. This cutting-edge lighting technology comes standard on the top-tier Ultimate trim.

Comfort Takes Center Stage Inside

Step inside, and Opel’s focus on comfort becomes clear. Every Astra now comes standard with Intelli-Seats, designed with a central recess that reduces pressure on the tailbone — a small detail that makes a big difference on long journeys.

Higher trims add AGR-certified seats, approved by Germany’s Campaign for Healthy Backs, while optional ReNewKnit upholstery offers a premium look using sustainable mono-materials. Staying true to Opel’s “Greenovation” philosophy, the interior also features vegan materials, including a fully leather-free steering wheel.

The cockpit itself has been refined with clearer graphics, improved screen layouts, and more intuitive controls, making daily driving easier and less distracting.

Electric Convenience and Everyday Practicality

The Astra Electric also gains Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing drivers to power external devices like e-bikes or camping equipment directly from the car — a handy feature for road trips and outdoor adventures.

And practicality hasn’t been forgotten. The Astra hatchback offers up to 1,339 liters of cargo space, while the Astra Sports Tourer stretches that to 1,634 liters, complete with a flexible 40:20:40 split-folding rear seat.

A Compact Car That Feels Like a Class Above

With sharper styling, improved electric range, smarter technology, and unchanged pricing, the new Opel Astra makes a strong case for itself in the compact segment. Whether electric, hybrid, or diesel, Opel’s bestseller now feels more premium, more efficient, and more future-ready — without asking customers to pay more.
