Genesis UK picks Ohme as its home EV charging partner

Genesis Motor UK has has chosen Ohme, the UK’s largest home electric-vehicle charging company, is its new and exclusive home EV charging partner.

By providing easy access through a simple referral scheme to a home-charging unit from Ohme, Genesis aims to make the transition to EV ownership a straightforward process. Ohme will supply the charger, the installation service and a support package directly through the Genesis retail network, as well as training and assistance for retailers.

Ohme’s dynamic EV chargers use live data from the grid and are compatible with the UK’s most affordable energy tariffs. Ohme chargers automatically adjust to optimise the cost of charging and accessing all the times of the smartest, greenest and lowest cost energy tariffs as well as featuring a solar boost function reducing reliance on the grid.

Fully-charging a new Genesis GV60 with an 84kWh battery using an Ohme on a dynamic EV tariff such as Intelligent Octopus Go, could cost just £5.88 for its 348 mile WLTP range. Ohme also offers drivers the option to charge their car when renewable energy generation on the national grid is at its highest, further lowering their CO2 impact.

“Ohme’s strong customer service ethos aligns with Genesis’ Son Nim customer centric approach. As a result, we’re delighted to partner with Ohme for the benefit of our customers and our retailer network,” said Ashley Andrew, President and CEO of Genesis and Hyundai UK.

“We’re looking forward to bringing the Ohme benefits of easy charging and low running costs to Genesis customers.” said Peter McDonald, Ohme Director. “With Genesis refreshing its line-up of electric models this year, customers not only have an updated product range to choose from but access to all that Ohme can bring to their ownership experience.”

Ohme is also the official charger provider for Hyundai as well as Motability Operations, the largest fleet operator in the UK and has won two awards from Business Motoring for Best Electric Charging Point Provider and Best Electric Van Charging Point Provider.
