All-Electric Fiat Ducato Cargo Box Enters Series Production at Atessa Plant

FIAT Professional has started production of the new Ducato Cargo Box BEV at the Atessa plant, a strategic milestone and a strong signal of the brand’s commitment to zero-emission mobility.

The new Ducato Cargo Box BEV is built on the Battery Electric Chassis Cab version and combines class-leading performance with exceptional load capacity of 18.3m³, complemented by a spacious interior with dimensions of 4,230 mm in length, 2,032 mm in width, and 2,150 mm in height.

With 410 Nm of torque and 200 kW (270 hp) of power delivered by a 110-kWh battery, it provides a driving range of up to 323 km (WLTP). For professionals requiring even more volume, the L4 variant expands the usable space to 20.5 m³, increasing the length to 4,400 mm and the height to 2,300 mm.

Additional features such as a tailgate or tail lift, lateral access doors, and extra internal storage above the cab further enhance the vehicle’s versatility. With these options, the total cargo volume reaches up to 21 m³ for the L3 version and 22 m³ for the L4.

FIAT Professional also introduced a major upgrade across the entire Ducato line-up with the availability of a new 22 kW on-board AC charger as standard content, replacing the previous 11 kW version.

This enhancement allows for significantly reduced charging times on alternating current, enabling efficient overnight charging and increased daily operational flexibility for customers. In particular, the 22kW AC charging enables a full recharge in just 6 hours, half of the time compared to the previous 11kW solution.

Camper Van Champion Goes Electric

Atessa plant is one of the most advanced hubs of Stellantis CustomFit, the conversion and customization program that currently applies to 50% of Stellantis Pro One commercial vehicle output.  One area of particular interest for Stellantis CustomFit is the realization of transformations for the Caravan and MotorHome (RV, Recreational Vehicles) sector, where FIAT Professional is once again the undisputed market leader.

The Ducato platform serves as the basis for 75% of the camper vans on European roads today. It is no coincidence that the Ducato has been named “Best Base for Camper Vans” by German magazine Promobil for 17 consecutive years. Now also available in a fully electric version, it brings together all the comfort and configurability that customers expect, with the added benefit of zero-emission driving.

Customization Without Compromise

Stellantis CustomFit is a flexible, factory-integrated program that seamlessly combines base vehicle manufacturing with tailored modifications designed to meet specific customer needs. By carrying out these transformations directly at the plant, the program guarantees superior standards of quality, safety, and delivery time—making it an ideal solution for businesses that demand mission-ready vehicles from day one.

Thanks to a network of over 550 certified conversion partners around the world, Stellantis delivers professional vehicles tailored to customer needs —ranging from tippers to high-volume cargo solutions—directly through its dealer network, ensuring reduced delivery times and improved customer satisfaction.
