Genesis debuts upgraded Electrified G80 for European market

Genesis has revealed the full design and specification of the new Electrified G80, ahead of the official EU market debut in June.

Encompassing the most comprehensive specification in the Genesis model lineup, Electrified G80 is the flagship model in the brand’s all electric European portfolio.

Exclusively available at launch in Dynamic specification, the new model’s sharpened exterior and interior design captures the essence of Genesis’ ‘Athletic Elegance’ philosophy. Retaining the signature crest grille and dynamic profile, new exterior design updates introduce a more contemporary appearance.

At the front, a new bumper design underlines Electrified G80’s bold presence. The brand’s iconic Two Line headlights now incorporate Micro-Lens Array (MLA) technology and an Intelligent Front Lighting System, offering enhanced lighting performance, precise control and sophisticated design. The front charging port has been redesigned for added convenience, gaining heating, lighting and electric opening and closing functions, while a new 19’’ alloy wheel design defines the exterior for MY25.

The new Electrified G80, now exclusively available with an extended wheelbase, has an additional 130mm which offers a significantly greater sense of space and an even more luxurious experience for rear seat passengers.

Throughout the interior, Electrified G80 embraces the Korean ‘beauty of white space’ principle, perfectly balancing elegant simplicity and advanced technology. A new front and rear seat design offers a new level of comfort for all passengers, with extended leather throughout and a newly designed three-spoke steering wheel.

Customers can now choose from 14 exterior colours, including the exclusive new Geneva Silver option. Four interior colourways are also available, the exclusive new Prussian Blue joining Obsidian Black, Ecru Camel, and Ash Grey/Glacier White options.

Electrified G80 is safer, more comfortable and more convenient than ever thanks to upgraded technology, centred around a new panoramic 27” connected car integrated cockpit (ccIC) system connecting the driver information and entertainment display screens. Digital Key 2 offers a full biometrical experience, with fingerprint readers eliminating the requirement for a traditional key and offering enhanced convenience and security.

The new Electrified G80 also gains an advanced anti-bacterial UV-C steriliser system seated in the front armrest console, able to santise germs on items stored in the compartment.

The comprehensive suite of ultra-luxurious features and technology includes the high quality 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen Audio with Dolby Atmos capability. Included as standard, the premium system works in harmony with an advanced Active Road Noise Cancellation system to create an entirely immersive audio experience while on the road.

Elevating the rear-seat environment further is the optional 2nd Row Comfort Pack, which introduces electric closing doors and electrically-operated rear blinds.

Optimising comfort for all occupants, individual seat heating and cooling technology is available for the driver and front seat passenger, with separate seat heating functions in the rear.

Silent, all-electric performance

With a larger 94.5 kWh battery and dual 136kW electric motors at the front and rear, the new Electrified G80 also introduces elevated performance and increased range. Capable of a combined WLTP range of 323 miles (520 km) on a single charge, convenient 10-80% charging in just 25 minutes allows for comfortable long-distance journeys.

All Electrified G80s are equipped with an electronically-controlled suspension damping system working in harmony with Road Preview technology, which preemptively detects speedbumps and damaged road surfaces and adjusts the suspension damping control to provide a significantly smoother ride.

Genesis’ flagship electric model in Europe

A key model in the brand’s portfolio, Electrified G80 is the new all-electric flagship with a history which predates Genesis’ launch as a standalone brand in 2015. Since the Korean debut of the first-generation Hyundai Genesis in 2008, the model lineage has showcased a host of cutting-edge technologies, elegant and distinctive design, and luxurious convenience features.
