New Skoda Enyaq launched with range of 365 miles

Skoda Auto is advancing its electrification strategy with the introduction of the new Enyaq family, updating one of Europe’s most successful all‑electric model series. Notably, both the Skoda Enyaq and the Skoda Enyaq Coupé now feature the brand’s new Modern Solid design language, reinforcing their visual appeal.

The updated Enyaq boasts optimised aerodynamics, along with sustainable materials and extensive standard equipment. Additionally, the new Enyaq family introduces enhanced digital capabilities and more advanced assistance systems. Bidirectional charging is a new feature, allowing the battery to serve as a supplementary energy storage unit at home.

The new Enyaq now comes with even more extensive equipment as standard, including heated front seats & steering wheel, tri-zone climate control, keyless entry with walk away function, predictive adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, wireless charging with cooling function, rear USB-ports and an electric boot with kick activation (Virtual pedal). Remote Park Assist and Remote Trained Parking are new optional digital features. The new Enyaq offers two battery sizes and three powertrain options: the Enyaq 60 and Enyaq 85 each have one electric motor and rear-wheel drive, while the Enyaq 85x comes with an additional motor at the front and all-wheel drive. A new feature is bidirectional DC charging, allowing the battery to double as a supplementary energy storage unit at home.

For the interior, customers can choose between six distinct Design Selections. While the new sustainable Lodge Design Selection, inspired by the Modern Solid design language, uses eco‑friendly materials and orange details that include the seat belts, the new Lounge Design Selection is predominantly grey and combines artificial leather and microsuede with contrasting light green stitching. There is also a Suite Cognac Design Selection with elegant cognac-coloured seats covered in leather that has been tanned using olive leaf extract.

Launched in 2020 as the first Skoda model to be based on the Volkswagen Group’s Modular Electrification Toolkit (MEB), the Skoda Enyaq is now among the best-selling battery-electric vehicles in many key European markets. By the end of 2024, the electric SUV, along with its Coupé variant, had been delivered to over 250,000 customers. In 2024, the Enyaq family was the third most popular electric model series in Europe, and the sixth bestselling BEV in the UK. With over 79,500 units sold globally in 2024, the Enyaq secured top sales positions in several key European markets.

Skoda has chosen Lipno as the venue for its Media Launch event, offering attendees a unique opportunity to experience the new Enyaq in a stunning natural setting. Against the backdrop of the South Bohemian landscape, journalists will be able to test drive the model on scenic routes that highlight both the car’s advanced technology and the beauty of the surrounding area. Beyond the test drives, the event will also shine a spotlight on sustainability, aligning with Skoda’s commitment to the GreenFuture environmental strategy. A key theme will be renewable energy, exemplified by the nearby Lipno Hydroelectric Power Station.

The plant is part of the Vltava Cascades – and its reservoir, with a surface area of almost 50 square kilometres, is the largest artificial lake in the Czech Republic. The main part of the hydroelectric power station, which was put into operation in 1959, is Lipno I with two turbines. The daily energy production of the Lipno I Hydroelectric Station could theoretically power a Skoda Enyaq 85 for approximately 25 million kilometres. This remarkable figure underscores the potential of renewable energy sources like hydroelectric power in supporting sustainable mobility solutions. To give you an idea, the new Enyaq could cover the distance from the Earth to the Moon and back more than 33 times.

The new Skoda Enyaq is available with two battery sizes and three powertrain options, delivering outputs from 204 PS to 286 PS (150 kW to 210 kW). The top‑tier Enyaq 85x features an additional electric motor on the front axle, providing all‑wheel drive capability. With a range of up to 365 miles (587 km), it is perfectly suited for long-distance journeys. The new Enyaq also supports rapid charging at DC fast-charging stations, achieving a charge from 10 to 80 per cent in just 28 minutes or less, thanks to a maximum charging rate of 175 kW. Bidirectional charging is only available for battery versions 85 and 85x.

Two battery sizes and three powertrain variants

The Enyaq 60’s lithium-ion battery comprises nine modules, each with 12 battery cells, giving it a total gross capacity of 63 kWh. It is combined with a 204 PS (150 kW) synchronous electric motor with permanent magnets on the rear axle, which delivers a maximum torque of 310 Nm to the rear wheels. The top speed is 99 mph (160 km/h). The Enyaq 85 variant also has an electric motor and rear-wheel drive but comes with a larger lithium-ion battery offering a gross capacity of 82 kWh. It consists of twelve modules, each with 16 battery cells. Its motor produces an output of 286 PS (210 kW) and a maximum torque of 545 Nm.

The Enyaq 85x featuring a second, asynchronous electric motor on the front axle enabling all-wheel drive also comes with the larger battery consisting of twelve modules, each with 24 battery cells. This all-wheel drive continuously adjusts the power transmitted to the front wheels, reducing energy consumption while enhancing directional stability. Both versions deliver a top speed of 111 mph (180 km/h).

Short charging times with charging rates of up to 175 kW and bidirectional charging

All variants of the new Skoda Enyaq support high charging rates: up to 165 kW for the Enyaq 60 and a maximum of 175 kW for the Enyaq 85x. This means that the larger battery can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in 28 minutes at DC fast-charging stations; the Enyaq 60 in just 24 minutes. All models charge at up to 11 kW at AC charging stations. A new feature of the new Enyaq 85 and 85x models is bidirectional DC charging (V2H).

This function allows the Enyaq’s battery to double as a supplementary energy storage unit for the home. With a suitable DC wallbox for bidirectional charging and, for example, a home battery storage system, users will be able to control the flow of electricity to and from the car according to their preferences – for example, based on current electricity prices, or in the event of a power cut.

Standard assistance systems

Blind Spot Detection and Crew Protect Assist are now part of the extensive list of active and passive safety features in the new Enyaq. Blind Spot Detection includes Rear Traffic Alert and Exit Warning, which monitor what is happening around the car to help avoid collisions with other road users, while Crew Protect Assist is designed to optimally protect occupants in the event of an unavoidable accident.

The list of standard safety features also includes Predictive Adaptive Cruise Control (pACC), which optimises energy consumption by automatically adapting the speed to the route, using data from the vehicle’s sensors. Intelligent Speed Assist automatically follows speed limits based on Traffic Sign Recognition and when entering built-up areas. Other standard systems include Attention and Drowsiness Assist, which monitors the driver’s alertness and attention, and Lane Assist, which helps keep the vehicle in its lane.

Comprehensive Travel Assist Plus makes use of swarm data

The comprehensive Travel Assist Plus function now makes extended use of swarm data collected from Volkswagen Group vehicles. The Enyaq continuously downloads detailed maps of its surroundings, created by vehicles that have previously driven through the area. This data, protected by two-stage anonymisation, increases the system’s effectiveness and adaptability in various driving situations. With swarm data support, for instance, the vehicle can handle areas with sparse road markings, such as incomplete longitudinal lane lines on both sides. In addition to the online swarm data for predictive cornering assist and Predictive Adaptive Cruise Control (pACC), the Travel Assist Plus also includes Adaptive Lane Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, and Emergency Assist.

New digital features simplify parking and vehicle access

The optional Intelligent Park Assist introduces two new functions. Remote Parking allows the Enyaq to automatically enter parallel and perpendicular parking spaces, while the owner controls the manoeuvre via the MySkoda app on their smartphone. Using Bluetooth, the system works with the owner standing near the vehicle while holding the key. After selecting the desired type of manoeuvre, the Enyaq autonomously handles steering, braking, and movement. Trained Parking enables the car to “learn” approaches of up to 50 meters in length to five specific parking locations. Once a saved space is recognised, the Enyaq can drive itself there automatically. With Remote Trained Parking, the driver can control this learned parking manoeuvre from outside the car, again using the MySkoda app. Keyless entry, standard for the Enyaq, offers added convenience with its Open‑On‑Approach function, which unlocks the doors and tailgate when the key holder comes within 1.5 metres of the car. Walk-Away Locking automatically locks the vehicle when the key is moved more than 2.5 metres away from the vehicle.
