Fisker announced a recall of 11,308 Ocean electric SUVs worldwide due to a potential power loss issue.
The problem lies with the cabin electric water pump, according to a stop-sale notice sent to dealerships in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
This is Fisker’s fourth recall in recent months. The company filed for bankruptcy protection in June after facing financial difficulties while ramping up production.
The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) specified that the recall includes 7,545 vehicles in the United States. The NHTSA explained that a communication glitch between the water pump and the battery system can trigger a safety mode that limits power and reduces speed.
Fisker will replace the faulty water pumps free of charge. This follows a similar recall in June to address malfunctioning exterior door handles.
