XPeng adds G6 coupe SUV to its European range

Chinese smart electric vehicle maker XPeng is adding a third, completely new model to its European range: the G6. This electric coupe SUV operates at the heart of the popular segment of the best-selling car worldwide in 2023. Thanks to its innovative SEPA2.0 platform with 800V architecture and the most advanced software technology, the high degree of space and comfort and its uncompromising standard equipment, the G6 has everything to win the hearts of European EV drivers.

The ultra-fast charging G6 (up to 280 kW) will be available with two battery packs (66 kWh and 87.5 kWh), the largest of which has a maximum WLTP driving range of 570 km. XPeng’s coupe SUV can be ordered from May and will be in the showroom later in the third quarter.

The G6 is on the latest generation of XPeng’s light and strong EV platform (SEPA2.0), which, like that of its big brother G9, is based on 800 volt technology. This makes the G6 capable of super-fast charging at a fast-charging station, with a charging capacity of up to 280 kW. Charging the battery from 10 to 80% takes less than 20 minutes. Buyers of a G6 can choose a battery (LFP) of 66 kWh and with 435 km WLTP driving range or a battery (NCM) with a net capacity of 87.5 kWh and 550 to 570 km WLTP driving range.

The coupe SUV has rear-wheel drive as standard, but the largest battery can be combined with all-wheel drive. The RWD Standard Range delivers 190 kW/258 hp and 440 Nm, the RWD Long Range delivers 210 kW/286 hp and 440 Nm and the AWD Performance is only for people with a strong stomach: it delivers 350 kW/476 hp and 660 Nm thanks to two electric motors, enabling it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds. The top speed of all versions is 200 km/h.

Thanks to a wheelbase of 2.89 meters and a smart interior design, the G6 offers plenty of legroom and headroom, even for taller Europeans. The luggage compartment contains 571 liters. High-quality materials have been used in the interior with a level of finish that is already known from the P7 and G9. The G6’s infotainment system runs on the latest version of XPeng’s operating system Xmart OS and offers all the comfort-enhancing features and XPILOT driver assistance systems that XPeng has in-house as standard. The most important driving information is located directly in front of the driver on a 10.2-inch display. All other functionalities can be controlled via a central 14.96-inch screen with high resolution and quick and intuitive controls. As usual with XPeng, the system will be updated via periodic software updates that take place completely over-the-air and require no additional effort from the owner.

All versions of the G6 are equipped as standard with a long list of features that make driving more pleasant. For example, every G6 has 20-inch rims with Michelin tires, a large panoramic glass roof, multi-adjustable, heated and leatherette-covered seats all around, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, 4 USB ports, two 50W induction charging points for smartphones, a 960W audio system with 18 speakers and an extensive library of music, video, entertainment and social media apps. To improve electrical performance in winter and maximise range, a heat pump is standard. It is also possible to use the G6 to supply other devices with power (V2L). The only options are an electrically deployable tow bar and a number of exterior colors.

The G6 can be ordered from May and will be available at European XPeng Stores later in the third quarter. Every G6 comes with a 7-year or 160,000 km warranty. More information about prices and specifications will follow at the end of this month.
