Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE Priced At $83,900 In The US

The new Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE brings state-of-the-art technologies derived directly from Formula 1 to the road. Arriving in U.S. dealerships in spring 2024 and starting at $83,900, the 2024 AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE features a dynamic pairing of the world’s most powerful production four-cylinder engine at the front and a two-speed electric motor positioned on the rear axle.

With its performance hybrid drive and innovative electric exhaust gas turbocharger, this exciting new model offers a completely new driving experience and blistering performance with a 671 hp combined system output and 752 lb-ft combined system torque.

In the new Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE, a Handcrafted AMG 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine is combined with a permanently-excited synchronous electric motor, a high-performance battery developed in Affalterbach and AMG Performance 4MATIC+ fully variable all-wheel drive with Drift mode to deliver acceleration from 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds.

The hand-built AMG M139l engine was developed entirely at the Mercedes-AMG in Affalterbach and is produced according to the “One Man, One Engine” principle. It features an electric exhaust gas turbocharger – technology derived directly from Formula 1™ – powered by a 400-volt electrical system to provide immediate response across the entire rpm range.

The 201 hp electric motor is positioned at the rear axle, where it is integrated with an electrically-shifted two-speed gearbox and an electronically controlled limited-slip rear differential in a compact electric drive unit (EDU). The 400-volt AMG high-performance battery offers a capacity of 6.1 kWh to support a continuous output of 94 hp and a peak output of 201 hp for ten seconds. A direct cooling system ensures the high-performance battery is always at an optimal operating temperature, which also enables recuperation to be optimized.

Standard AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension with adaptive damping combines sporty driving dynamics with a high level of ride comfort. Standard active rear axle steering further contributes to the agile handing. An AMG high-performance composite brake system is also equipped standard, along with AMG Dynamic Engine Mounts and eight AMG DYNAMIC SELECT drive programs, which includes a “RACE” program.

The interior is fitted standard with AMG sports seats with MB-Tex/microfiber upholstery or a choice of five styles of optional Nappa leather upholstery. AMG Performance seats are also available as an option to support highly dynamic driving. The MBUX infotainment system with 12.3-inch driver display and 11.9-inch central multimedia display features various AMG- and hybrid-specific displays and functions that can be extensively personalized. Customers can also enjoy a range of other standard features, including power heated front seats, AMG Performance steering wheel in Nappa leather, panorama roof, Burmester® 3D Surround Sound System with music streaming and sound personalization, enhanced 64-color ambient lighting and more.

The muscular proportions of the AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE are based on an extensively modified AMG bodyshell. The front end is 2 inches longer, the front fenders are a combined 3 inches wider, and the wheelbase is extended by 0.4 inches. A new distinguishing feature exclusive to the AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE is the narrow air outlet in the center of the hood that transitions elegantly into the two power domes.

Customers can personalize the exterior of the performance hybrid sedan with seven different paint options, four optional 20-inch wheels and several optional exterior design packages. The AMG Performance Design Package emphasizes the vehicle’s highly dynamic character with 20-inch forged wheels, red brake calipers, AMG Track Pace, an elevated top speed and even more aggressive exterior styling – from the rear diffuser blade to larger flics on the front fascia, side skirt inlets and outer grooves on exhaust tips. Other optional exterior design packages include the AMG Night Package and AMG Night Package Plus, as well as the AMG Carbon Fiber Package and AMG Carbon Fiber Package II.
