2024 Hyundai Kona Electric Priced From $46,399 In Canada

Hyundai Auto Canada announced pricing for its all-new 2024 Kona Electric. This battery-powered variant of the new generation Kona will have a starting price of $46,399, while the fully-equipped Ultimate trim will start at $51,199.

The completely redesigned Kona offers more equipment and technology than ever before, while maintaining a very competitive price range. Equipped with a 64.8 kWh battery, the 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric offers a Natural Resources Canada-estimated range of 420 kilometers as well as impressive acceleration thanks to its 150 kW (201 HP) electric motor.

The 2024 Hyundai Kona comes standard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen incorporating a next-generation infotainment system. Hyundai’s Smartsense safety features are also standard, as well as 17-inch alloy wheels and wireless connectivity to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Kona Electric will also come with distinctive elements, including forward “frunk” storage, active grille shutters, i-PEDAL driving mode, and Smart Regenerative System that adjusts regeneration according to real-time traffic conditions. With the Ultimate trim, customers will be ale to enjoy equipment such as a Bose premium audio system, a head-up display, a wireless device charger as well as the Digital Key technology.

The Kona Electric is also ready for winter with standard equipment such as heated front seats, heated steering wheel and a heat pump to optimize charging performances. Speaking of charging, the 2024 Kona Electric is estimated to recharge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in approximately 43 minutes with 400V fast-charging capability.

As part of Kona’s new ergonomic layout, the shift-by-wire gear selector has been relocated from the center console to a stalk behind the steering wheel, allowing more storage in the open console area. The layout emphasizes Kona’s larger, wider interior, providing a versatile and comfortable space for driver and passengers. This impression is further reinforced by the relocation of driver controls around the steering wheel, allowing a multi-use center console storage area with a rotational cupholder design. Ambient interior lighting options are also available that correspond to drive modes, acceleration, or to suit the mood of the driver. The front seats are 30 per cent slimmer to maximize rear passenger legroom and the second row Curveless Bench Seat also enhances available space. Even more, a two-stage latching system allows rear seat reclining.

The fully foldable second-row seat and rear compartment provide 723 litres of rear cargo volume with rear seatbacks up and 1,803 litres with seatbacks folded down, along with improved loading convenience.

Launched for the 2018 model-year, the Kona instantly became a must-have for Canadian consumers looking for a dynamic, versatile and affordable vehicle. Best-selling vehicle in its class in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022, the Kona has also been among Hyundai’s three best-selling models in Canada since 2019. Since its launch, more than 100,000 units of the gasoline Kona and 20,000 units of Kona Electric were sold on the Canadian market. In 2022, Hyundai sold 24,579 Kona units across the country.

The 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric will be available at Canadian dealerships starting in December of 2023.
