Electric vehicle maker Rivian Automotive announced on Monday it delivered 12,640 vehicles in the second quarter, a 59% jump from the previous quarter.
The automaker, which makes electric R1T pickups and R1S SUVs, produced 13,992 vehicles at its manufacturing facility in Normal, Illinois during the same period. Rivian produced roughly 23,400 vehicles through the second quarter, including electric delivery vans and consumer models.
The update came after Tesla said it delivered a record 466,140 EVs in the second quarter, up 83.5 per cent from a year before.
The second quarter production figures released by Rivian were published independently from its second quarter financial results, which will arrive after market close on August 8.
Rivian said in a statement it believed it was on track to deliver on the 50,000 annual production guidance it previously issued.
