Vanwall unveils the new Vandervell S electric hot hatch

Vanwall, the distinguished automotive brand relaunched by Dr. Colin Kolles, former Managing Director and Team Principal of many F1 teams, unveiled the first street-legal model of the new Vanwall range.  The new model is available in two versions: Vandervell S and Vandervell S Plus.

This launch starts another new chapter in the history of the brand. Only a week ago the Floyd Vanwall Racing Team, received the confirmation of participation in the WEC 2023 from the FIA and consequently also entry to the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The Vanwall Vandervell 680 Hypercar will be entrusted to drivers Tom Dillmann (F), Esteban Guerrieri (AR) who are joined by Jacques Villeneuve (CA), former F1 World Champion in 1997, and 1995 Indianapolis 500 winner and ’95 Indycar title champion.

Many years after winning the Formula One World Championship the iconic Vanwall brand will returns to the world’s tracks.

Now, only a week later, Vanwall presents a completely new sports sedan providing further evidence of serious commitment and technical ability. The depth and experience of Vanwall’s engineering staff demonstrates the capability to develop multiple projects concurrently. These are vastly different, demanding projects are, which stand out for their high quality design and build quality.

The Vandervell S is a four door hatchback plus tailgate and its aggressive shapes immediately attracts attention, characterized by aerodynamic details. The extremely sporty look is underlined by the large carbon fibre front aerodynamic splitter, side skirts and rear spoiler, which highlights the car’s feisty personality.

The launch color is the classic green that recalls the English origins of the Vanwall brand.

From a styling design point of view, the front of the car has very bold and geometric lines, with an aggressive fender shape that incorporates the large cooling system air intake.

The bonnet profile has two side cuts that culminate in the side fenders, which wrap around the 22” alloy wheels and low profile tires.

The very slender dynamic profile sides are underlined by a wide lateral body groove that continues into the two doors.

The rear of the car has another sporty detail with an integrated deflector above the rear window.

The car’s interior is characterized by its cockpit with special attention given to driving position, outstanding ergonomics and references to the world of motorsport. All this is achieved without sacrificing comfort by the use of the highest quality materials, such as fine leather and exposed carbon fibre.

Light weight is another key element in achieving exceptional performance. It is immediately clear that this model is the result of the extensive technical know-how and expertise accumulated over years by our dedicated team.

The new Vanwall is available in two versions with different technical specifications:

– Vandervell S, 4wd, 320 HP, combined range of approx. 450 Km (279 miles), 185 km/h, 0-100 in 4,9 s
– Vandervell S Plus, 4wd, 580 HP, combined range of approx. 420 Km (260 miles), 265 km/h, 0-100 in 3,4 s

In this phase of profound change in the automotive world, Vanwall has poured all its knowledge into this project, proving how racing still can serve as a real benchmark to provide solutions applicable to mass production vehicles.

The Vandervell S Plus will be produced in a 500 car limited series at Vanwall’s Greding (Germany). The S and the S Plus will be marketed through direct sales and distributed by delivery partners, with deliveries starting from the third quarter of 2023.

The extremely competitive price, is one of the other strengths of this project: starting at 128,000 Euros, excluding VAT. Colour choice includes any colour bodywork at customers request and five complementary cockpit interior choices. Taylor made options are also available on request.
The car is totally street-legal and is covered by a 2-year quality and service warranty.

Vanwall, a prestigious British brand that won the Formula One Constructors’ Championship in 1958, has the aim of producing a range of unique and exclusive luxury cars, characterised by innovative and cutting-edge technical solutions and the use of the highest quality materials. The Vanwall R&D Department has specified all the best state-of-the-art equipment available on the market for the new Vandervell S and Vandervell S Plus models,  in cooperation with industry leading partners.

Vanwall GmbH Managing Director Dr. Kolles: “Vanwall’s goal is to create unique, new generation cars, high quality and great performance, bringing them to the maximum possible development, able to convey the strong passion that animates the Vanwall Company”.

Vanwall future plan will see production of a limited edition version of the Vanwall Vandervell 1000 Hypercar, the street-legal LM Hypercar. The car is currently under development and has already completed multiple road and race test sessions.
