Genesis GV60 Named Best Electric SUV At What Car? Awards 2023

Genesis GV60 claimed the Best Electric SUV award at the 2023 What Car? Awards. Genesis GV60 was praised for its comfortable ride, infotainment system, competitive pricing compared to other contenders, as well as the quietness of the driving experience.

Hosted at Grosvenor House in Park Lane, the What Car? Awards sees the automotive industry come together to recognise the UK’s biggest achievements and contributions.

This award is the first for GV60 in 2023 and follows a trail of multiple awards received in Europe in 2022, such as ‘German Car of the Year’ in the premium segment and ‘Swiss Car of the Year’.

What Car? Editor Steve Huntingford said: “With its first electric SUV, Genesis has created a truly game-changing car. Standout strengths include the beautifully finished interior, user-friendly infotainment system and supple yet well controlled ride. Meanwhile, the GV60’s hushed cruising manners, long range and rapid charging capability add further to its appeal. The cherry on the top is that you get all of this for a very competitive price.”

“We’re delighted to collect another award for the Genesis GV60”, said Andrew Pilkington, Managing Director, Genesis Motor UK.  “Our first all-electric model is proving a real success with customers and it’s an honour to receive recognition of the GV60’s leading qualities from a prestigious title like What Car?   Genesis arrived in Europe less than two years ago and we’ve worked hard to create a solid foundation for the brand. Winning awards against well-established premium brands is truly motivating and we look forward to growing our business further. This is only the beginning for us.”

GV60 is the South Korean brand’s first all-electric model to be launched in Europe and is built on the bespoke E-GMP platform, which offers multiple benefits such as boosting efficiency, improving performance and driving pleasure, while also allowing for ultra-fast charging, with a 10-80% charge available in just 18 minutes.

Genesis also received What Car? recognition for its GV70 SUV, which claimed Best Interior for a Family SUV, with a luxurious but versatile interior that can be personalised choosing from a variety of different colour themes and materials.
