Citroen improves smartphone connectivity on Ami 100% electric with ‘My Ami Play’. ‘My Ami Play’ function in the My Citroen app allows Ami users to access frequently used smartphone functions such as navigation, radio, music and calls.

Citroen has introduced the ‘My Ami Play’ tool to Ami 100% electric to improve smartphone connectivity onboard the urban mobility solution.

Already, Citroen Ami customers can connect their phone to Ami via the DAT@AMI dongle, allowing them to access key vehicle information, such as charge level, via the My Citroen app. Now, through ‘My Ami Play’ and ‘Citroen Switch’, owners can access more features such as navigation or internet radio, and make calls via Bluetooth®, with the smartphone doubling as an infotainment screen.

Ami is the first model in the Citroen range to feature ‘My Ami Play’ and the ‘Citroen Switch’, a simple solution to allow drivers access to apps and media on their smartphone safely and legally while driving.

Gilles Scafarto, Head of Connected Services Strategy at Citroen, said: “Customers like to have access to their favourite navigation and media apps while driving. ‘My Ami Play’ is a major innovation to meet this need in complete safety. Citroen has gone even further by offering an additional solution enabling them to stream radio while enhancing and simplifying the driving experience.”

Users of My Ami Play can customise the menu to feature the functions they wish to use regularly for Navigation and music such as Waze, Google Maps, Apple Maps, Deezer, and Apple Music. Coupled with the optional Ami Bluetooth speaker, which slots into a specific place in the dashboard, drivers can enjoy all of their media in Ami 100% electric. In addition to the use of third-party apps for navigation and music, ‘My Ami Play’ also features in-built access to internet radio and allows call functionality.

‘Citroen Switch’ is a new steering wheel control unit that connects to the smartphone via Bluetooth®, with drivers able to access their phone through the steering wheel without taking their eyes off the road. The driver has the choice of positioning the ‘Citroen Switch’ wherever they choose on the steering wheel or throughout the cabin, to ensure ease of use. The smartphone can be placed in the holder on the dashboard which then functions as Ami’s infotainment screen.

Ami 100% electric emits zero emissions whilst driving and has a 5.5kWh battery that can be fully charged in just three hours. All versions feature a 6kW electric motor, allowing Citroen Ami to reach a top speed of 28mph, with a range of up to 46 miles (WMTC).

‘Citroen Switch’ will be included as standard on new orders of ‘My Ami Pop’, ‘My Ami Tonic’ and versions featuring a colour pack from 01 September. ‘Citroen Switch’ can also be ordered as an accessory from your local Citroen authorised parts supplier.

Through Citroen UK’s ‘Fair Pricing’ policy, Ami 100% Electric is priced from £7,695 and can be had via a Personal Contract Purchase, with prices starting from £19.99 per month with a customer deposit.
