Kia e-Niro availability increases as UK customer demand continues

Since its launch in 2018, the multi-award winning Kia e-Niro has received high praise and significant demand from UK customers, with the majority of reservations adding to the growing list of back orders the brand has worked hard to fulfil.

For 2020 Kia Motors (UK) Ltd. harnessed the intense demand for its crossover EV and worked alongside Kia Motors Corporation in Korea to increase the UK supply to satisfy customers who have waited longer than desired for their 282 mile range EV. The sales figures speak for themselves, in July Kia UK delivered more e-Niros in one month than in the entirety of 2019. Now firmly into H2 of 2020, availability has been increased even further, allowing for the shortest lead times for the MY20 e-Niro since launch. Customers who order a MY20 e-Niro now can expect to receive their car in September, in time for the new ‘70’ registration plate change or during Quarter Four.

This increase in UK allocation for e-Niro also supports back orders, which are now significantly reduced. Additionally it provides the 186-strong Kia dealer network the opportunity to display more demonstrator models, allowing customers to see and feel the car and enhance the buying process.

The increase in supply is focussed mainly on the e-Niro, however additional supply has also been added to the UK allocation of Soul EVs, giving more UK customers the option between two highly specified and capable battery electric vehicles.

Paul Philpott, President and CEO, Kia Motors (UK) Ltd. commented on the news “The Niro family has brought increased variance, style and eco credentials to our UK product offering. With the additional e-Niro availability coming to our shores it places our dealer partners in a better position to satisfy the huge demand we have received for the vehicle. What’s more, the recently launched Soul EV adds to this ability to give our customers what they want, when they want it.”

The MY20 e-Niro ‘4’ grade offers 201bhp (150kW) through its pure electric drivetrain and provides a zero tail pipe emission range of 282 miles driving range (combined) or 382 miles in a city environment. It’s also packed with convenience features such as Android AutoTM and Apple CarPlayTM embedded into a modern and stylish interior. Similarly, the all-new Soul EV is available as a single high-specification, feature-rich model with an all-electric range of 280 miles.
