Firefly Grill joins Electrify America’s EV charging network

Electric vehicle owners locally and EV motorists traveling between major cities in mid-America can now charge their vehicles while enjoying delectable local fare at Firefly Grill, a sustainable farm and eco-conscious New American eatery in Effingham, Illinois.

Constantly innovating to improve the dining experience, Firefly Grill owners Chef Niall Campbell and his wife Kristie have collaborated with Electrify America – a leading network of ultra-fast chargers, offering the largest number of public, high-powered, fast charging stations on the market – to provide local and traveling customers driving EVs with a convenient charging option.

Conveniently located at 1810 Avenue of Mid-America near the intersection of I70 and I57, the Firefly Grill location charger offers four Electrify America DC fast chargers featuring charging speeds of 150 and 350 kilowatts. The new charging station is part of Electrify America’s growing network of chargers and mission to increase education and awareness of EVs.

The company plans to install or have under development 484 EV charging stations with more than 2,000 DC fast chargers by the end of June 2019. The stations are located in 17 metropolitan areas, and along high-traffic corridors in 42 states and the District of Columbia.

“We’re proud to join Electrify America’s extensive charging network and offer EV owners a welcoming place to feel at home. And if you’re passing by on the July 4th weekend, what better way to spend the time while your vehicle is charging than to enjoy dishes made from the best ingredients possible, many grown ourselves,” said Kristie Campbell from Firefly Grill.

“We are committed to increasing EV adoption and are constantly seeking strategic locations to make the charging experience as convenient and accessible as possible. The Firefly Grill site is perfectly located to serve folks traveling from Chicago to Nashville, Indianapolis to St Louis, and a variety of other routes that Midwesterners will travel this summer,” said Vince Churchill, Project Development Manager for Midwest Region at Electrify America, “As a bonus, the Firefly Grill just so happens to add a unique experience and a great menu to its ideal location.”
