ChargePoint partners with Total to deliver EV charging solutions across the UK

ChargePoint, the world’s leading EV charging network, and Total Gas & Power, one of the leading energy suppliers to business customers, announced a reseller partnership that will offer comprehensive EV charging solutions and services to businesses throughout the United Kingdom.

This agreement comes after several European countries, including the UK, committed to banning the sale of petrol and diesel vehicles in the coming decades, creating a sharp increase in demand for broadly distributed EV charging solutions.

Analyst reports indicate that one in four new cars sold worldwide will be electric by 2030, and more than half by 2040, underscoring the critical need for a massive investment in EV charging infrastructure.

“ChargePoint is pleased to partner with Total Gas & Power to increase the availability of necessary charging solutions for EV drivers across the UK,” said Mark Kerstens, vice president, Strategic Accounts, ChargePoint. “The transportation landscape is evolving at a rapid pace and partnerships like this are essential to provide immediate, widely accessible charging solutions to support the ever-growing number of EV drivers on the road. We look forward to working with Total Gas & Power to provide businesses across the UK with the opportunity to help us lay the groundwork for the next generation of fueling.”

Sion Roberts, General Manager, Total Gas & Power, said “Recognising that the energy requirements of businesses have progressed well beyond the simple supply of gas and electricity, we are delighted to partner with ChargePoint. The relationship means our customers will have access to industry-leading EV charging technology that helps them meet the changing dynamics of vehicle fueling both for their staff and customers alike.”

ChargePoint currently has more than 55,000 places to charge on its network worldwide and, last month, committed to expanding its global network to 2.5 million by 2025, the largest commitment made by any EV charging network and the company’s most significant to date.

As the leader in EV charging, ChargePoint delivers a comprehensive suite of charging solutions everywhere they go, making ChargePoint uniquely positioned to meet every charging need at any type of fueling location, from Level 2 charging solutions, too fast and ultra-fast charging hubs alongside petrol stations on motorways.

Through this partnership, ChargePoint and Total Gas & Power aim to increase access to EV charging solutions of all kinds as a means to serve the growing population of EV drivers and accelerate the adoption of e-mobility in the UK.

This partnership marks another milestone in the movement to transition to electric mobility and provides businesses in the UK with an opportunity to participate in the fueling network of the future.
