All major automakers are posting August sales numbers for plug-in electric vehicles.

Sales of the all-electric Nissan LEAF totaled 1,154 units, up 8.3% compared to August of 2016 when Nissan sold 1,066 LEAF EV’s. In terms of year to date in 2017, 9,685 LEAFs have been sold, which is up 22.3% compared with 2016 when 7,922 were sold. Along with its new look, the second generation Nissan LEAF will also use an improved electric drivetrain that’s predicted to have a range of at least 200 miles. The all-new Nissan LEAF will have its world debut in Tokyo on September-6th..
Chevrolet Volt sold 1,445 units last month, down 30.6 percent compared to August of 2016 when Chevy sold 2,081 Volts. Overall for the year, 13,895 Chevrolet Volt plug-ins have been sold, which is down by 2.8% compared to 2016 when 14,295 units were sold.
|Toyota Prius Prime|
Prius Plug-in Hybrid sold 1,820 units during the month, after selling 1,645 in July. Overall for the year, 13,157 Prius Prime plug-ins have been sold. The Prius Prime PHV achieves a remarkable EPA-estimated 133 MPGe and MSRP that will range from $27,100 for the base Prius Prime Plus grade.

Ford C-MAX Energi sold 705 units in August. Previously in July, Ford sold 844 C-MAX Energi plug-ins. Overall for the year, 5,929 C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrids have been sold, which is up 35.8% compared to 2016 when 3,225 units have been sold.

Ford Fusion Energi finished last month with 762 deliveries, after selling 703 units in July. In terms of year to date in 2017, 6,522 Fusion Energi plug-ins have been sold, which is down 30.1% compared to 2016 when 7,235 units have been sold..
|Chevrolet Bolt EV|
Chevrolet Bolt EV deliveries totaled 2,107 units during the month. Previously in July, Chevy Bolt sold 1,971 units. In terms of year to date in 2017, 11,670 Bolt EVs have been sold. The Chevrolet Bolt EV begins at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $37,495, which includes destination and freight charges, but excludes tax, title, license and dealer fees. Depending on individual tax situations, customers may receive an available federal tax credit of up to $7,500.
|Porsche Panamera S-E Hybrid|
Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrids sold just one unit during the month. Panamera S-E Hybrid sold 1 unit in May, after selling 2 units in April, 3 units in March, just 1 unit in February and 2 units in January. Overall for 2017, just 10 Panamera S E-Hybrids have been sold.

Porsche sold 178 Cayenne S E-Hybrid SUVs last month, after selling 160 units in July. In terms of year to date in 2017, 1,316 Cayenne S E-Hybrids have been sold.

Tesla Model 3 delivered 75 units last month and 30 copies in July. The first production Model 3 vehicles are pre-configured with rear-wheel drive, a long-range battery starting at $44,000, with premium upgrades for an additional $5,000. This vehicle will offer a range of 310 miles and a 0-60 mph time of 5.1 seconds. The standard Model 3, starting at $35,000 with 220 miles of range and a 0-60 mph time of 5.6 seconds, should be available in the U.S. in November.

BMW i3 sold 504 units last month, after selling 601 units in July. In terms of year to date in 2017, 4,097 BMW i3 EVs have been sold.

BMW i8 sold 29 plug-in hybrid sports cars last month. BMW sold 55 units in July. Overall for the year, 304 BMW i8 plug-ins have been sold.
|BMW X5 xDrive40e|
The BMW X5 xDrive40e sold 317 units, after selling 463 units in July. Overall for the year, 2,926 BMW X5 xDrive40e SUVs have been sold. With a total system output of 230 kW/313 hp generated by a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder gasoline engine and a synchronous electric motor, the BMW X5 xDrive40e achieves a combined fuel consumption of 69 – 71 mpg.
BMW 330e sold 409 units during the month, after selling 387 units in July. Overall for the year, 2,665 BMW 330e plug-in hybrids have been sold. The 2016 BMW 330e is priced at $44,695 including $995 destination & handling.
The all-new BMW 740e sold 39 units during the month, after selling 80 units in July. In terms of year to date in 2017, 422 BMW 740e plug-ins have been sold. The 2017 BMW 740e xDrive iPerformance is priced at $89,100 plus $995 Destination and Handling. With its eDrive technology the BMW 740e xDrive iPerformance can be driven in all-electric mode up to 75 mph. Combined fuel economy of 64 MPGe and an all-electric range of 14 miles is possible (EPA official figures).

The all-new BMW 530e sold 345 units last month, after selling 343 units in July. In terms of year to date in 2017, 1,087 BMW 530e plug-ins have been sold. Combined system output of 248 hp and 310 lb-ft. of peak torque propels the BMW 530e iPerformance Sedan from 0 to 60 mph in 6.0 seconds and the BMW 530e xDrive iPerformance Sedan in 5.8 seconds. It’s priced from $51,400.
|Mini Cooper S E Countryman ALL4|
Mini Countryman PHEV sold 86 units last month, after selling 75 units in July and 10 units in June – its first month on the U.S. market.
|Mercedes-Benz GLE 550e|
Mercedes-Benz GLE 550e sold 23 units in August. Previously in July, the GLE 550e sold 27 units. Overall for the year, 318 Mercedes-Benz GLE 550e plug-in hybrids have been sold GLE 550e is equipped with V6 gas engine and a seven-speed automatic transmission, combined with an electric motor for total system power of 436 hp, 479 ft lbs of torque. The 8.8 kWh battery pack stores enough juice to travel up to 30 km (19 miles) on electric power.
|Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive|
Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive finished last month with 58 deliveries, after selling 81 units in July. Overall for the year, 456 B-Class Electric Drive EVs have been sold. The B-Class Electric Drive starts from $41,450 and has an all-electric range of 87 miles. For an extra $600, one can purchase the extended range package which allows the driver go 104 miles.
|Mercedes-Benz C 350e|
Mercedes-Benz C 350e sold 212 last month. Previously in July, the C 350e sold 112 units. Overall for the year, 612 C 350e PHEVs have been sold. The Mercedes-Benz C 350 e combines a combustion engine with an electric drive system and a high-voltage lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 6.38 kWh, which can be charged from an external power source. The C 350 e can reach a top speed of 155.3 mph while achieving certified fuel consumption of 112 mpg US.

Mercedes-Benz S550 Plug-in Hybrid sold 32 units last month, after selling 124 units in July. Overall for the year, 567 S550 plug-in hybrids have been sold. The S550 Plug-in Hybrid offers a system output of 436 hp and 479 lb-ft torque, sprints from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.2 seconds and can drive up to 20 miles purely electrically.
|Volvo XC90 T8 PHEV|
Volvo XC90 PHEV sold 265 units during the month, after selling 174 units in July. Overall for 2017, 1,214 XC90 PHEV SUVs have been sold. The MSRP of the Volvo XC90 T8 PHEV is $68,100 before incentives.
|Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid|
The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid sold 425 units during the month, after selling 125 units in July. Overall for the year, 1,957 Pacifica Hybrids have been sold. The 2017 Pacifica Hybrid starts at $34,495 with available U.S. federal tax credit, not including state and local incentives. The Pacifica Hybrid has earned a fuel economy rating of 84 MPGe from EPA. It also offers a total driving range of 566 miles and an electric-only range of 33 miles.

Volkswagen e-Golf sold 317 units last month, down 30.2 percent compared to August of 2016 when Volkswagen sold 454 e-Golf EVs. Overall for the year, 2,512 e-Golfs have been sold, which is up by 11,5% compared to 2016 when 2,253 units were sold.

Sales of the A3 Sportback e-tron sold 129 units during the month, down 63.0 percent compared to August of 2016 when A3 Sportback e-tron sold 346 units. In terms of year to date, sales of the A3 Sportback e-tron no stand at 2,467 units, down 6.4% compared with 2016 when 2,637 units were sold.

For May, Fiat 500e sold 415 units units in last month, after selling 475 units in July. Overall for the year, 4,718 Fiat 500e EVs have been sold. In 2016, sales of the Fiat 500e were 5,330 units.
|Hyundai Sonata PHEV|
Hyundai Sonata plug-in hybrid sold 185 units during the month. Previously in July, Sonata PHEV sold 205 units. Overall for the year, 1,805 Sonata plug-in hybrids have been sold, Hyundai Sonata PHEV is priced from $34,600 before incentives.
|Kia Optima PHEV |
Kia Optima PHEV plug-in hybrid sold 182 units during the month, after selling 130 units in July. In terms of year to date, sales of the Optima PHEVs now stand at 702 units. With an estimated 600 miles of total driving range, the Optima PHEV’s battery system features a 9.8 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery pack, which produces roughly 60 percent more energy output than the battery pack found in the outgoing Optima’s hybrid system, and is estimated to achieve 27 miles in full EV mode

Cadillac CT6 PHEV sold 23 units last month, after selling 22 units in July, 20 units in June, 16 units in May and 6 units in April – its first month on the market.Cadillac CT6 PHEV is priced at $75,095 before any applicable electric vehicle tax incentives. All-electric range for the CT6 Plug-In Hybrid is an estimated 30 miles. Hyundai IONIQ Electric sold 66 units last month, after selling 4 units in July. Overall for 2017, 266 IONIQ Electric EVs have been sold. The Ioniq Electric offers pure electric mobility with a 28 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery for an estimated driving range of 110 miles. Pricing starts from $29,500 before incentives.
|Kia Soul EV|
Kia Soul EV sold 300 units last month, after selling 145 units in July. Overall for 2017, 1,281 Soul EVs have been sold. Offered in two trims, Base and + (Plus), the 2015 Kia Soul EV MSRP is $33,700 (not including federal tax rebate of $7,500) for the Base trim.
|Honda Clarity Electric|
The Honda Clarity Electric sold 15 units in August. The Japanese automaker delivered the first 34 copies in July. Honda Clarity Electric is available at select dealerships in California and Oregon. The Clarity Electric has an EPA fuel economy rating of 126/103/114 MPGe (city/highway/combined) and an EPA range rating of 89 miles on a full charge.
|Ford Focus Electric|
Ford Focus Electric sold 131, after selling 148 units in July. In terms of year to date, sales of the Focus Electric now stand at 1,337.
Toyota sold 70 Mirai fuel-cell electric sedans last month, after selling 82 units in July. Overall for the year, 860 Mirai FCVs have been sold. The Mirai is priced MSRP $57,500 plus an $835 destination fee. With combined state and federal incentives of $13,000 available to many customers, the purchase price could potentially fall to under $45,000.
| Smart Fortwo Electric Drive|
Last month, smart fortwo ED 94 units last month. Smart didn’t sell any unit in July. smart ED sold 3 units in June, after selling 1 unit in May, 3 units in April, 13 units in March, 22 units in February and 15 units in January. Overall for 2016, 657 smart fortwo EDs have been sold.
|Chevrolet Spark EV |
Spark EV sold just unit during the month. Spark EV didn’t sold any unit in May. The Chevy Spark EV sold just 1 unit in April, after selling 3 units in March, 4 units in February and also 4 units in January. Last year, 3,035 Chevrolet Spark EVs have been sold.
Mitsubishi iMiEV didn’t sell any unit during the month. Mitsubishi sold 2 iMiEVs in April, 3 units in March and just one unit in February. Last year, only 94 iMiEVs have been sold. The 2016 Mitsubishi i-MiEV will arrive at Mitsubishi dealers across the United States in late March 2015. With a starting MSRP of only $22,995, the 2016 i-MiEV is the most affordably-priced electric vehicle available in America today, and after factoring in the Federal tax credit of $7,500, the net starting MSRP is reduced to $15,495.
|Cadillac ELR – discontinued|
General Motors has pulled the plug on the Cadillac ELR after years of dismal sales. Cadillac only managed to sell 1,354 units of the ELR in 2014, while only 1,024 were delivered in 2015.
