The Spanish plug-in electric car market was up 141% last month, having registered 608 units, with year-to-date numbers reaching 3,096 units.
May saw the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV lead the pack with a record 60 deliveries, followed by the Audi A3 e-tron with 49 registrations, and the BMW i3 and Renault ZOE with 47 deliveries.
In the year-to-date ranking, the BMW i3 leads with 368 units, in front of its arch-rival Renault ZOE with 358, while the Nissan Leaf is third with 323 registrations, surpassing the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV with 274 units.
On the manufacturers ranking, the leader BMW (22%, down 1%) holds steady, while the second placed Renault (12%, down 2%) and third place Nissan (10%, down 1%) both lose share.
