Ricardo and Future Mobility Corporation to cooperate on EV development

Ricardo has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Future Mobility Corporation to provide engineering support in the development of a family of state-of-the-art electric vehicles, aimed at offering affordable quality and performance to customers in Asia, North America and Europe.

Formed in 2016, Future Mobility Corporation (FMC) aims to redefine the market for high quality, feature-rich electric vehicles, bringing unprecedented levels of performance, functionality and affordability across multiple international markets. The company’s ambitious plans see its first products delivered to market by 2020, as part of a completely new product range which will embrace the latest electric vehicle technologies.

To help it fulfil its product development plans, FMC will work with Ricardo on an international basis, drawing upon the resources of its vehicle and electric/electronic systems engineering teams based at Ricardo technical centres throughout the UK, continental Europe and China.

“Future Mobility Corporation is one of China’s most exciting companies within the new energy vehicle sector,” commented Ricardo managing director of hybrid and electric systems Martin Tolliday. “The company has ambitious plans to push forward the state of the art in electric vehicles, and create new products that are attractive to customers across world markets. FMC has an exceptional in-house team comprising some of the world’s foremost experts in electric vehicles; it is an honour, therefore, for Ricardo to have been selected as such an important engineering partner. It is also a reflection of the growing leadership of Ricardo in this sector, our exceptional range of skills and technologies in the electric vehicle development, as well as our global network and reach enables us to partner with the most ambitious and dynamic of customers in this increasingly important industry. We look forward to working with FMC on this exciting and important project – one that I believe will play its part in shaping the future of the electric vehicles worldwide.”
