All major automakers are posting December sales numbers for plug-in electric vehicles.

 | Nissan LEAF Sales of the all-electric Nissan LEAF totaled 1,889 units, up 41% compared to December of 2015 when Nissan sold 1,347 LEAF EV’s. In terms of year-to-date results in 2016, 14,006 Nissan LEAFs were sold, which is down by 18.9% compared with 2015 when 17,269 were sold. Nissan introduced the 2016 all-electric LEAF with an available 30 kWh battery that provides an EPA-estimated range of 107 miles – a 27-percent increase over the previous 24 kWH battery. |
 | Chevrolet Volt Volt had its best month and year ever. Chevrolet Volt sold 3,691 units last month, up 74.6 percent compared to December of 2015 when Chevy sold 2.114 Volts. Overall for the year, 24,739 Chevrolet Volt plug-ins have been sold, which is up by 30.7% compared to 2015 when 15,393 units were sold. |
 | Toyota Prius Prime Prius Plug-in Hybrid sold 1,641 units during the month, after selling 781 units in November. The Prius Prime PHV achieves a remarkable EPA-estimated 133 MPGe and MSRP that will range from $27,100 for the base Prius Prime Plus grade. |
 | Ford C-Max Energi Ford C-MAX Energi sold 1,289 units in December. Previously in November, Ford sold 721 C-MAX Energi plug-ins. Overall for the year, 7,957 C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrids have been sold. |
 | Ford Fusion Energi Ford Fusion Energi finished last month with 1,099 deliveries, after selling 1,817 units in November and 1,372 units in October. In terms of year-to-date results in 2016, sales of the Ford Fusion Energi now stand at 15,938. |
 | Cadillac ELR GM sold 3 Cadillac ELRs last month. In terms of year-to-date, sales of the Cadillac ELR now stand at 534. General Motors has pulled the plug on the Cadillac ELR after years of dismal sales. Cadillac only managed to sell 1,354 units of the ELR in 2014, while only 1,024 were delivered during last year. |
 | Porsche Panamera S-E Hybrid Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrids finished last month with just 3 deliveries. Previously in November and October, Panamera S E-Hybrid sold 88 and 38 units respectively. Overall for the year, 393 Panamera S E-Hybrids have been sold. |
 | Porsche Cayenne S e-Hybrid Porsche sold 152 Cayenne S E-Hybrid SUVs last month, after selling 179 units in November. In terms of year-to-date results in 2016, sales of the Cayenne S E-Hybrids now stand at 2,111. |

With a total system output of 230 kW/313 hp generated by a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder gasoline engine and a synchronous electric motor, the BMW X5 xDrive40e achieves a combined fuel consumption of 69 – 71 mpg. |
 | Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive finished last month with 54 deliveries, after selling 52 units in November. Overall for the year, 632 B-Class Electric Drive have been sold. The B-Class Electric Drive starts from $41,450 and has an all-electric range of 87 miles. For an extra $600, one can purchase the extended range package which allows the driver go 104 miles. |
 | Mercedes-Benz S550 Plug-in Hybrid Mercedes-Benz S550 Plug-in Hybrid sold 71 unit last month. Overall for the year, 550 S550 Plug-in Hybrids have been sold. The S550 Plug-in Hybrid offers a system output of 436 hp and 479 lb-ft torque, sprints from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.2 seconds and can drive up to 20 miles purely electrically. |
 | Volkswagen e-Golf Volkswagen e-Golf sold 443 units last month, down 27.3 percent compared to December of 2015 when Volkswagen sold 609 e-Golf EVs. Overall for the year, 3,937 Volkswagen e-Golfs have been sold, which is down by 7% compared to 2015 when 4,232 units were sold. |
 | Audi A3 Sportback e-tron Audi A3 Sportback e-tron sold 589 units during the month, after selling 394 units in November. In terms of year-to-date, sales of the A3 Sportback e-tron now stand at 4,280. The 2017 Audi A3 Sportback e-tron is priced at $38,900, and purchasing customers may qualify for applicable state and federal incentives and tax credits. |
 | Volvo XC90 T8 PHEV Volvo XC90 PHEV sold 204 units during the month, after selling 161 units in November and 142 October. Overall for the year, 2,015 XC90 PHEV SUVs have been sold.  | Hyundai Sonata PHEV Hyundai Sonata plug-in hybrid sold 325 units during the month. Previously in November, Sonata PHEV sold 275 units. Overall for the year, 3,095 Sonata plug-in hybrids have been sold, Hyundai Sonata PHEV is priced from $34,600 before incentives. |
 | Kia Soul EV Kia Soul EV sold 197 units last month, after selling 179 units in November. Overall for the year, 1,728 Soul EVs have been sold. Offered in two trims, Base and + (Plus), the 2015 Kia Soul EV MSRP is $33,700 (not including federal tax rebate of $7,500) for the Base trim. |

 | Mitsubishi i Mitsubishi sold 2 i-MiEV electric car in December, after selling also 3 units in November. Overal for the year, 94 iMiEVs have been sold. The 2016 Mitsubishi i-MiEV will arrive at Mitsubishi dealers across the United States in late March 2015. With a starting MSRP of only $22,995, the 2016 i-MiEV is the most affordably-priced electric vehicle available in America today, and after factoring in the Federal tax credit of $7,500, the net starting MSRP is reduced to $15,495. |
 | Toyota Mirai Toyota sold 116 Mirai fuel-cell electric sedans last month, after selling 105 units in November. Overall for the year, 1,034 Mirai FCVs have been sold. The Mirai is priced MSRP $57,500 plus an $835 destination fee. With combined state and federal incentives of $13,000 available to many customers, the purchase price could potentially fall to under $45,000. |
