Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Sales Tops 100,000 Units

Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has become the fourth plug-in vehicle to sell more than 100,000 units worldwide

The Nissan LEAF is the overall leader with 218,000 sales worldwide. The Tesla Model S is next with 120,000 sold, followed by the Chevrolet Volt with 1100,000 sales globally along with its rebadged siblings in overseas markets.

If we count the upcoming Prius Prime as the same vehicle, the next likely candidate to cross this threshold is the Prius Plug In, which has around 75,000 sales.

The Outlander PHEV has been a sales hit Europe, where 66,000 have been sold.

The Outlander PHEV has become the UK’s number one choice with over 21,000 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEVs now on the UK’s roads.

The Outlander PHEV will arrive at Mitsubishi Motors showrooms in the US this fall.
