A roadtrip with an electric car, would that be possible? Wouter van der Wal with a group of five friends took the challenge last summer.
In three weeks time they drove almost 4500 kilometer (2787 mile) through 10 countries in Europe. They experienced the current state of the European charging network, learned the ins and outs of electric driving and meanwhile we had a great holiday.
They covered the trip in a video: the Electric Roadmovie.
“As Industrial Design students, we’re excited about the opportunities of new technologies. With this trip we want to show that range anxiety is something of the past. We didn’t have any experience with electric driving and we didn’t have a car. So, we sent a proposal to various car manufacturers: an electric car for three weeks in exchange for a movie about our trip. Kia responded positively and provided us with a Kia Soul EV. July 22 our trip took off, with each of the 55 chargers came a new story and we captured everything we learned,” said Wouter van der Wal.
