Renault has sold 15,000 Twizy in 40 countries since it released the car in 2012.
The French carmaker has delivered its 15,000th Twizy EV, the milestone car going to the municipality of Florence, Italy.
Renault’s cooperation with the city of Florence began in 2011 when Matteo Renzi (then mayor of Florence) signed an agreement with the Renault-Nissan Alliance on promotion of the electric vehicle. The agreement is materializing with the purchase of 53 Renault Twizy and 17 Renault Kangoo Z.E. for municipal duties.
As air quality becomes an increasingly critical challenge for major European cities, the electric vehicle brings a much needed breakthrough solution.
The Renault-Nissan Alliance has signed a total of 120 agreements with government administrations, electric utility companies and other partners to promote the development of electric vehicles.
Renault Twizy holds huge customer appeal in a range of applications: car-sharing fleets, tourist centres, private developments and new urban planning projects. And with its unique design, Renault’s electric two-seater makes a powerful communications impact for companies who choose to use it in their fleets.[wzslider height=”400″ lightbox=”true”]
