The electric car manufacturer Bollore is going to start selling its Bluecar electric cars for €12,000 (about $15,600) after a € 7,000 green rebate is applied in France, but the batteries are not included.
The battery is available for rent with a monthly service plan of €80 ($104) for unlimited mileage. The EV also comes with a 12 month comprehensive warranty.
The Bollore Bluecar undercuts the price of the Renault ZOE, which comes in at €13,650, also without battery.
The Bollore Bluecar has a range of 250 kilometers (155 miles) and a top speed of 120 km/h (75 mph).
The Bollore Bluecar was until now, a car offered almost exclusively by the hour via the Autolib carsharing service. The carsharing service currently has more than 65,000 subscribers, and boasts more than 4,000 dedicated parking spaces in and around Paris.
Cumulative sales of the Bollore Bluecar hit 2,050 units in February 2013, with nearly all deployed to Autolib.
