AMP Electric Vehicles, an electric drive motor vehicle manufacturer, announced that its E-100 electric truck has been approved by the California Air Resources Board as a zero-emission vehicle and is eligible for sale in California for the 2014 model year that began this January.
Designed especially for the package delivery market, the AMP E-100 electric truck is capable of carrying 19,500 lbs. when fully loaded and attains a range of 100 miles on a full battery charge.
AMP’s all-electric system incorporates a dual-motor system that produces 250 kW and accelerates the 19,500 GVW vehicle faster than the original factory-installed diesel engine does. The system has a total energy storage system of 100 kWh.
Steve Burns, CEO of AMP Electric Vehicles, Inc. said, “We are extremely pleased that our AMP E-100 truck and its battery-electric power train has been approved by CARB and can be sold in California. We believe this is a major milestone towards bringing our E-100 truck to market in the state that leads the country in the adoption of zero-emission and low-emission vehicles.”
