Chevrolet Volt has set new monthly sales record with 2,961 U.S. deliveries in October, 542 units over its previous best monthly record of 2,851 set in September 2012.
So far this year, GM has sold 19,309 Chevrolet Volts, up from 5,003 units that had been sold last year at this exact time.
Meanwhile, the Nissan Leaf sold 1,579 units in October, up from 984 in September, and up 86 percent from the prior year.
For the year, Nissan has sold 6,791 Leaf EVs.
UPDATE
Deliveries of the Prius Plug-in Hybrid totaled 1,889, up from 1,652 in September, 1,047 in August, 668 in July and 695 in June. For the year—February through September—Toyota has sold 7,734 Prius Plug-in Hybrids in the U.S. Japanese automaker also sold 47 RAV4 EV all-electric crossovers last month. Toyota sold 61 units of the RAV4 EVs in September—vehicle’s first partial month on the market.
Honda reported selling 16 units of the Fit EV in October, while Mitsubishi sold 30 ‘i’ electric cars in October, bringing the year’s total to 469.
Ford sold 118 of its Focus Electric, bringing the year to date total to 346 units. The automaker has produced nearly 1,400 of the cars this year. October marked Ford’s first month of sales for its C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid. The Dearborn automaker sold 144 of the plug-ins.
