Coda Automotive, a Southern California based EV-maker, is recalling certain 2012 Coda electric sedans because their side curtain airbags may not have been installed properly which could cause them to not deploy as intended.
As a result the bags may increase the risk of injury to passengers by not deploying as they were designed to in a crash. The recall affects 78 vehicles.
Coda said that there are no known injuries related to this recent discovery. The company’s dealers will inspect the airbag installations and correct them as necessary.
