General Motors sold 1,023 Chevrolet Volts and Nissan sold 478 Leafs last month in the United States, compared with sales of 603 Volts and 676 Leafs in January.
Cumulative sales of the Chevrolet Volt have been 1,626 vehicles, while the cumulative sales of the Nissan Leaf have been 1,154 units this year.
Volt sales are still well below the December 2011 record level, though, and Nissan Leaf sales continue to trend down in the North America, on a decline for over six months, and February being the worst sales month for the Leaf since last April.
The Leaf is being rolled out nationwide this year, with orders opening up in new states for deliveries by this summer. 2012 Volt models went on sale in California this week.
There were also 44 Mitsubishi ‘i’ electric cars sold and even 7 Prius Plug-In Hybrids found buyers on the last day or two of the month.
