General Motors and Nissan made good on their promise to bring mass-produced electric cars to the market.
GM sold between 326 Chevrolet Volts this month and Nissan’s sales totaled 19 LEAF EVs last month.
Production for both is slowly ramping up, and supplies are limited. That’s expected to change this year with an estimated 50,000 already on waiting lists to buy the Chevy Volt and Nissan LEAF.
The LEAF has a $32,780 base price while the Volt starts at $41,000. Both cars also are eligible for a federal tax credit that will cut their prices by $7,500.
