Green Automotive Begins Final Testing of Zotye Electric SUV for US Delivery

Green Automotive Company Corporation announced that Roush Industries has been retained to provide structural and vehicle engineering support as the Company begins the process of testing and confirming that its All-Electric SUV meets or exceeds all Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

Green Automotive plans to launch retail sales of the electric SUV, produced in China by Zotye, by the end of this year.

The Zotye Electric SUV is powered by a 25.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The Zotye Electric has a range of up to 150 miles (241 km), a top speed of about 70 mph (113 km/h) and accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 9.5 seconds.

Roush is a provider of automotive engineering and systems integration solutions, with expertise in areas such as advanced composites, body design and engineering, paint and trim services, and fabrication and instrumentation.

According to the Green Automotive, the initial phase of work underway is currently divided into four steps. Step one involves an engineering review of vehicle construction with special attention paid to safety features to include airbags, seat belts and other safety design elements. Step two involves mapping the vehicle data against the required safety standards in the Roush homologation database. Step three entails vehicle testing, vehicle tear down and the processing of all data obtained for comparison to the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. Step four involves the compilation of a report that details the test findings and includes recommendations for any vehicle improvements.
