Hyundai Ioniq 6 Facelift Launches in the UK With 422-Mile Range

Hyundai has opened UK orders for the facelifted Ioniq 6, with prices starting at £33,240 after the government’s full £3,750 Electric Car Grant. The updated electric saloon combines a redesigned exterior, an 84kWh battery and a maximum claimed range of 422 miles, undercutting the Tesla Model 3 by around £5,000.

First revealed at the 2025 Seoul Motor Show, the refreshed Hyundai Ioniq 6 brings sharper styling, updated cabin technology and a revised UK trim line-up. Deliveries are expected to begin in early 2027, giving buyers another long-range electric car option in the increasingly competitive saloon segment.

Unlike some European markets, where the Ioniq 6 is offered with different battery capacities, every UK version comes with the larger 84kWh battery. The range consists of Premium, N Line and N Line Evo trims, with rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive powertrains available.

Hyundai Ioniq 6 UK Prices and Trims

The entry-level Premium RWD starts at £33,240, including the full Electric Car Grant. The sportier N Line RWD costs £36,240, while the range-topping N Line Evo RWD starts at £43,270.

Buyers who want additional performance can choose the dual-motor all-wheel-drive versions. The N Line AWD is priced at £43,490, while the N Line Evo AWD costs £46,770. These higher-priced variants do not qualify for the full £3,750 grant.

The pricing makes the updated Ioniq 6 a notable alternative to the Tesla Model 3, particularly for buyers prioritising long driving range, aerodynamic styling and standard equipment.

Up to 422 Miles of Range From an 84kWh Battery

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 Premium uses a rear-mounted electric motor producing 229PS, paired with an 84kWh battery. It accelerates from 0 to 62mph in 7.4 seconds and delivers a claimed WLTP range of up to 422 miles.

Hyundai also quotes efficiency of up to 4.6 miles per kWh, making the entry-level version particularly appealing to drivers who regularly cover long distances.

The N Line and N Line Evo rear-wheel-drive models offer up to 364 miles of range. For those seeking stronger acceleration and additional traction, the 325PS dual-motor AWD version reaches 62mph in 5.1 seconds, with a maximum range of up to 354 miles.

All versions retain Hyundai’s 800-volt electrical architecture, which supports ultra-fast DC charging when connected to a compatible charging station. This is an important advantage for drivers who frequently travel longer distances and want to minimise charging stops.

Sharper Exterior Design and a Cleaner Rear End

The facelift introduces a more distinctive front end, with slim daytime running lights separated from the main headlights, which sit lower in the redesigned bumper. The revised bonnet, shark-nose front treatment and cleaner lower grille give the electric saloon a sharper appearance.

Hyundai has also refined the lower-body styling, extending the black garnish into the doors to emphasise the car’s elongated proportions. Updated aerodynamic wheel designs and revised lower skirts further distinguish the latest model.

At the rear, the previous model’s prominent upper spoiler has been replaced by an extended ducktail design above the rear light bar. The change creates a cleaner silhouette while preserving the aerodynamic qualities that help the Ioniq 6 achieve its impressive range.

The N Line takes a sportier approach, adding 20-inch alloy wheels, contrasting exterior accents and more aggressive detailing inspired by Hyundai’s N performance models.

Three new exterior colours are also available: Transmission Blue Matte, Celadon Grey Matte and Sunset Brown Pearl.

Updated Interior Retains Physical Controls

Inside, the facelifted Ioniq 6 retains its twin 12.3-inch displays for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system, now supported by updated software. Navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging and over-the-air updates help keep the cabin competitive with newer electric cars.

Hyundai has retained physical controls for the climate and heating systems, avoiding the need to rely entirely on touchscreen menus for everyday adjustments.

The Premium trim includes heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, a heat pump, 18-inch alloy wheels and a comprehensive collection of driver-assistance features. These include Highway Drive Assist 2, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist.

The N Line adds 20-inch wheels and a more distinctive cabin, with sportier upholstery, red stitching, heated rear seats and additional comfort features.

At the top of the regular line-up, the N Line Evo introduces leather and suede upholstery, ventilated front seats, a head-up display, an electric sunroof, a Bose premium sound system and a Surround View Monitor. Remote Smart Parking Assist and Digital Key 2 are also included.

Digital door mirrors are another available feature on suitably equipped versions, replacing conventional mirrors with cameras and interior displays.

Can the Updated Hyundai Ioniq 6 Challenge the Tesla Model 3?

The revised Ioniq 6 enters the UK market with a combination of competitive pricing, long-range capability and generous standard equipment. Its £33,240 starting price puts it below the Tesla Model 3 by approximately £5,000, while the Premium version’s claimed 422-mile range makes it a strong contender for drivers who want an electric car suited to motorway journeys.

The larger battery is standard across the UK range, removing the need to choose a smaller-capacity entry-level version. The 800V charging system also gives the Hyundai an important technical advantage for compatible rapid-charging stops.

However, buyers will need to weigh the entry-level model’s value against the higher cost of the more powerful AWD variants. The N Line Evo adds substantial comfort and technology upgrades, but its price moves the Ioniq 6 into a more expensive category.

With its redesigned exterior, updated technology and revised trim structure, the facelifted Hyundai Ioniq 6 looks well positioned to attract buyers seeking a premium-feeling electric saloon without paying luxury-brand prices.

UK deliveries are expected to begin in early 2027.
