Jeep has opened orders for two new electric versions of the next-generation Compass: the high-performance Compass 4xe and the Compass Long Range BEV. The new models expand the C-SUV’s electrified lineup and underline Jeep’s “freedom of choice” strategy, which will offer multiple powertrain options across its range.
Designed in Turin and built in Melfi, Italy, the new Jeep Compass is based on Stellantis’ STLA Medium platform. The model has been one of Jeep’s most successful global vehicles, with more than 2.5 million units sold worldwide since its launch in 2006.
The new all-electric variants sit alongside the Compass e-Hybrid, plug-in hybrid and standard battery-electric versions, giving buyers a wider choice of electrified powertrains.
Jeep Compass 4xe: 375 hp AWD Flagship
The new Jeep Compass 4xe is positioned as the most capable version of the lineup. It uses a dual-motor electric powertrain producing up to 375 hp, with a 157 kW front electric motor and a 132 kW rear motor.
The rear motor has been developed specifically for Jeep and is paired with a 14:1 reduction gear. Jeep says this setup can deliver up to 3,100 Nm of torque at the rear wheels, helping the Compass 4xe maintain traction in demanding off-road conditions.
A 96.1 kWh usable battery provides a WLTP driving range of more than 600 km. DC fast charging can replenish the battery from 20% to 80% in 27 minutes.
The Compass 4xe also receives a 10 mm suspension lift, improving ground clearance and off-road geometry. Jeep quotes an approach angle of 28 degrees, a breakover angle of 17 degrees and a departure angle of 31 degrees. Water-fording capability is rated at up to 480 mm.
For tougher terrain, the 4xe includes Jeep’s Selec-Terrain system with Auto, Sport, Snow, Sand/Mud and 4WD Lock modes. The latter locks traction across both axles for maximum off-road capability.
Compass Long Range BEV Targets Up to 674 km
The Jeep Compass Long Range BEV is aimed at drivers prioritizing maximum electric range. It uses a 96.3 kWh usable lithium-ion battery pack with 12 modules and 192 cells.
Jeep claims a WLTP range of up to 674 km on a single charge, making it the longest-range Compass electric model. The battery can also charge from 20% to 80% in 27 minutes under suitable DC fast-charging conditions.
Power comes from a 170 kW electric motor, equivalent to 231 hp. Jeep says the Long Range BEV benefits from updated motor calibration and battery management features, including predictive battery preconditioning to support faster charging performance.
Rugged Design Meets Everyday Practicality
The Compass 4xe gets a number of functional upgrades aimed at outdoor use. These include black molded bumpers designed to resist scuffs, heavy-duty rubber floor mats and more durable interior materials.
The seat upholstery uses polyurethane-coated fabric that Jeep says is twice as durable as conventional cloth. Rear seatbacks also feature an anti-scratch surface designed for pets, outdoor gear and frequent cargo use.
Despite its compact footprint, the new Compass offers up to 550 liters of luggage space. Additional interior storage totals 34 liters, while the longer wheelbase improves rear-seat legroom.
Jeep also highlights the SUV’s aerodynamic efficiency, with a drag coefficient of 0.29. The model retains signature Jeep styling, including extensive lower-body protection and an available illuminated seven-slot grille.
Trim Levels and Standard Technology
The Compass 4xe will be offered in Upland and Overland trims.
The Upland model includes Hill Descent Control, 19-inch wheels with M+S tires, a rear tow hook, front fog lights, roof rails and a dedicated tan interior finish.
The Overland version adds 19-inch diamond-cut wheels, a backlit seven-slot grille, matrix LED headlights, matte black exterior trim, privacy glass and upgraded upholstery.
The Compass Long Range BEV will be offered in Altitude, Business and Summit trims.
Altitude includes LED headlights, alloy wheels, climate control, a digital instrument cluster and a 16-inch infotainment display with wireless smartphone connectivity.
Business adds a 360-degree camera, parking sensors, wireless phone charging, predictive adaptive cruise control, active lane change assist and rear cross-traffic alert.
At the top of the range, Summit adds matrix LED headlights, heated and power-adjustable seats, ambient lighting, a windshield defroster and wheels up to 20 inches in diameter.
Level 2 driver-assistance technology and the Jeep Selec-Terrain system are standard across the Compass range.
With the addition of the 375 hp Compass 4xe and the 231 hp Long Range BEV, Jeep is completing the electrified Compass lineup with models designed to combine long-distance electric driving, fast charging and the brand’s established all-terrain capability.
