Kempower Mega Satellite Flex brings CCS and MCS charging to heavy-duty EVs

Global DC fast-charging specialist Kempower has unveiled a major upgrade to its high-power charging lineup with the introduction of the Mega Satellite Flex.

Designed to bridge today’s charging needs with tomorrow’s megawatt-scale infrastructure, the new solution supports both high-power CCS charging up to 560 kW and Megawatt Charging System (MCS) capability up to 1.2 MW.

The move reflects a broader industry shift toward ultra-fast charging for heavy-duty transport, where minimizing downtime is critical. By enabling significantly faster charging speeds, the Mega Satellite Flex helps improve fleet uptime while reducing total cost of ownership—two key priorities for commercial operators transitioning to zero-emission transport.

Built for Flexibility and Future-Proofing

A central strength of the Mega Satellite Flex lies in its flexible architecture. It allows charge point operators to serve both CCS and MCS-equipped vehicles from a single system, simplifying the gradual transition toward megawatt charging. This dual compatibility ensures that infrastructure investments remain viable as new vehicle technologies roll out.

The system is designed for high utilization from day one, supporting both commercial fleets and passenger EVs. Compatibility with modern 800V electric cars and vans ensures that the charger is not limited to heavy-duty vehicles, making it suitable for mixed-use charging hubs. Higher utilization rates also contribute to faster return on investment, an increasingly important factor as charging networks expand.

Key Specifications and Features

The Mega Satellite Flex introduces several high-performance capabilities tailored for next-generation charging demands:

– Delivers up to 1,500 A via MCS and 700 A via CCS
– Equipped with both MCS and CCS connectors
– Cable reach of 5 meters for CCS and 2.7 meters for MCS
– Optional integrated payment terminal
– Available with DC energy metering for CE/IEC markets
– Fully compatible with existing and new Kempower distributed charging systems

These features position the system as a scalable solution for operators looking to expand capacity without replacing existing infrastructure.

Supporting the Transition to Zero-Emission Transport

The Mega Satellite Flex was officially unveiled at the Advanced Clean Transportation Expo in Las Vegas, where it was showcased during Kempower’s Unplug & Recharge customer and partner event. The launch highlights growing momentum behind megawatt charging, particularly for heavy-duty electric trucks and long-haul transport.

By enabling operators to serve a wider range of vehicles while preparing for future charging standards, the Mega Satellite Flex represents a strategic step toward electrifying large-scale transport networks.

Availability

The Kempower Mega Satellite Flex is scheduled to go on sale in July 2026, with additional showcases planned across Europe throughout the summer.
