Mitsubishi Starts Production Of Nissan Rogue Plug-In Hybrid and Navara Pickup

Mitsubishi Motors has begun production of the Nissan Rogue Plug-in Hybrid for the North American market and the Navara for the Oceania market.

The company began production of the Rogue Plug-in Hybrid on January 12 at its Okazaki Plant (Aichi Prefecture, Japan), and the Navara on December 20, 2025, at the Laem Chabang Plant of Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand).

The 2026 Nissan Rogue Plug-in Hybrid is scheduled to go on sale in North America in the first quarter of 2026, while the Navara is set to launch in Oceania at the end of the first quarter of 2026.

The new 2026 Nissan Rogue Plug-in Hybrid combines two electric motors, a 20-kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a 2.4-liter gasoline engine. The system seamlessly blends output from the motors and gas engine to deliver the performance efficiency demanded by the driver at any time. It offers all-electric driving for quiet, efficient everyday trips, plus the versatility of gas-hybrid driving to go farther when adventure beckons.

Rogue Plug-in Hybrid’s battery can be fully charged in just 7.5 hours on a Level 2 home charger.

Total system output is 248 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, helping enable quicker acceleration than the standard Rogue. Intelligent All-Wheel Drive is standard on Rogue Plug-in Hybrid. The Rogue Plug-in Hybrid will offer up to 38 miles (61 kilometers) of all-electric range.

Rogue Plug-in Hybrid SL standard features include a 12.3-inch driver display, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, two front and two rear USB ports, LED fog lights, heated front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Moving up to Platinum grade adds a 10-inch head-up display, a Bose nine-speaker sound system, a power panoramic sunroof, heated rear seats, leather-appointed seating, rear door pull-up sunshades, two 120-volt power outlets, a heated steering wheel and gloss black roof rails.

A portable Level 1 charger, which plugs into an everyday 120V outlet, is standard.
