Mitsubishi Confirms Eclipse Cross BEV SUV for European Market

Mitsubishi Motors Europe announced that its new battery-electric C-segment SUV, to be named “Eclipse Cross”, will be revealed in September, with deliveries starting later in 2025.

To compete in the C-SUV segment – the largest in Europe – the new Eclipse Cross will be the third SUV to be launched in 2025, alongside the flagship Outlander PHEV which started sales in Spring, and the new Grandis (ICE/HEV) which will be revealed in July.

The Eclipse Cross will be the first BEV to be launched by Mitsubishi Motors in Europe since
2010 – when the pioneering i-MiEV became the first BEV to be put into series production by a major manufacturer.

In addition, the Eclipse Cross is a strategic step in the renewal of the brand’s product strategy in the region, which is to maximise coverage of Europe’s core segments, with an SUV-focused range of models incorporating advanced ADAS, Infotainment and powertrain technologies – from combustion engine (ICE), to hybrid (HEV), to Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) and now to 100% electric (BEV).

With a spacious, versatile interior, and packed with advanced technologies, the Eclipse Cross aims to meet the requirements of today’s families whilst looking to the future.

Reflecting the advanced technology within, the Eclipse Cross features a confident and futuristic EV design developed under the supervision of Mitsubishi Motors Europe Design based near Frankfurt am Main in Germany, and incorporates the next generation of Mitsubishi Motors signature “Dynamic Shield” front face.

The Eclipse Cross will be available with two different traction batteries: a long-range variant from launch in Q4 2025, with a mid-range version to follow in 2026.

The advanced drive-train technology is matched by the latest suite of ADAS systems and cutting-edge infotainment with Google Built-in, delivering both safety and convenience for the whole family both for daily commutes and longer-range weekend outings.

Eclipse Cross will be manufactured in Europe by Groupe Renault at Ampere’s Electricity facility in Douai, France.
