Ford Mustang Mach-E breaks Guinness World Record with 569 miles on single charge

A Ford Mustang Mach-E has officially clinched the Guinness World Record for the longest distance traveled by an electric car on a single charge.

A UK-based team sponsored by Webfleet, a fleet management provider, achieved the remarkable feat on July 27th, covering 569.64 miles (916.74 km) in the electric SUV over a period of just over 24 hours.

The previous record was held by China’s Zeekr 563.97-mile electric journey in Hangzhou last September.

To ensure the validity of this extraordinary accomplishment, the record attempt was meticulously documented with independent verification through video footage, odometer readings, GPS data, and battery level information provided by Webfleet.

Key to this achievement was the choice of a Mustang Mach-E Premium Extended Range model, equipped with a single-motor powertrain and a substantial 91kWh battery. The vehicle demonstrated exceptional efficiency, averaging 6.25 miles per kilowatt-hour—a significant improvement over its WLTP combined cycle rating of 3.8mpkWh. Impressively, the car even managed to travel an additional 21 miles after the battery indicated zero percent charge.

Other factors contributing to the record-breaking run included the use of 18-inch wheels, known for their enhanced comfort, and Bridgestone’s efficiency-optimized EV tires. The journey took place on a variety of public roads across England, encompassing different driving conditions to accurately simulate real-world scenarios.
