All Volvo EX30 recalled due to software issue

Volvo Car is recalling all of its new fully-electric EX30 sports utility vehicles due to a software glitch. The recall affects all of the 71,956 EX30s Volvo has made.

Due to a software error, the infotainment unit screen may enter a test mode during start-up of the vehicle. This may prevent key information such as the vehicle’s speed from being displayed.

Thankfully for EX30 owners, they won’t need to take their cars into the shop or to dealers in order to fix the error. The issue can be fixed via an over-the-air update.

The Swedish automaker began deliveries of the EX30 in January and in April, it was the second most popular battery-electric vehicle in Europe. Some 35,000 EX30s have been sold but a recall notice has been issued for all the 71,956 EX30 cars produced.
